Milan, Italy - For two A-350XWB and six A-330/200s
(WAPA) - "US based aircraft lessor Pegasus Aviation Finance Company has signed a firm contract for two A-350XWBs and six A-330/200s. The order is the first for the A-350XWB since it was officially launched in November 2006 and marks a renewed vote of confidence in the aircraft from a US based customer.
The contract was signed in December 2006 and marks Pegasus' first-ever direct order with Airbus.
San Francisco based Pegasus was formed in 1988 and is one of the world's largest commercial aircraft lessors, with a fleet of over 200 aircraft.
The A-350XWB is a completely new aircraft design based on the latest technology and lightweight materials. It has been designed to meet airline needs of greater fuel efficiency due to higher fuel prices as well as rising passenger expectations and increasing environmental concerns.
The A-330/200 is the aircraft of choice for many operators and is the unquestioned leader in its class with a commanding market share and a continually expanding operator base. Its proven record of superior economics and passenger comfort provides the operator with a significant competitive advantage in today’s market.
With close to 1,100 orders and 86 operators, the Airbus A-330/A-340/A-350XWB Family is the world’s most modern long-range family available today".
