https://www.sbs.com.au/language/english/qantas-announces-non-stop-flights-from-sydney-to-indian-city-of-bengaluru

QF 67 SYD 0930 1655 BLR
QF 68 BLR 1835 1020+1 SYD

Good timing for connections at BLR end with their 6E codeshares.

This is somewhat surprising. I thought they would fly to BOM first before BLR. Is there that much traffic to BLR, even business, doubt there is much VFR either.

Long time ago (more than 20 yrs ago), QF used to fly to BOM.

I think slowly but surely, BLR will take over BOM, with its slot constraints and non expansion of runways etc... BLR can take in traffic from the entire south and west if it wants to using Indigo Code share with QF

A lot of Aussie firms have their ODCs in Bangalore - the likes of ANZ, CBA etc. So there is quite a bit of business travel between Blore and Australia

In addition, given their timings and the 6E codeshare, this becomes a very convenient option for folks from South of the Vindhyas to travel down under.
