I do hope when the GoI announces resumption of international travel, (hopefully from mid July or early Aug) give everyone enough lead time (atleast 3 weeks), for airlines to sell tickets, for airports and cities to get ready for the passengers, and especially arrivals.

For domestic air travel startup there was chaos as GoI gave only 5 days notice and many states were unprepared.

I dont see any scheduled international flights resuming until October. I dont know how long they can restrict flights.

They can lift the restrictions earlier, if they follow this process:

All they need to do is for all boarding passengers, get a negative Covid test within 3 days of departure, tracing app since the time of the test to ensure the whereabouts of the passenger and upon landing (at the final destination) another covid test and a few days of quarantine till the results, then depending upon on the results, they can either go free or quarantine for 14 days (if positive). This might work and they charge the passenger the appropriate amount for the tests.

The Pick up & the Weakening of the virus has led to a jump in PAX Domestic traffic much more than that was calculated.
Things are jumping back on track

This time I think GoI will go ahead and lift the bubble restrictions on or about March 15. They have extended this far enough and now AI is with Tata group, no need to extend this any further.

I dont see how they can justify now, since GoI has removed the Covid testing requirement for arriving vaccinated passengers.

I don't understand. International flights have been continuing to operate, both to and from India. Most major airlines have been operating flights. What changes on March 15th?

SQ, Thai, BA are restricted in taking connecting passengers. SQ and BA are enforcing the policy somewhat stricter than other airlines. Also many airlines are not even allowed like TK. Once the restrictions are lifted, it will be like 2019 with the full bilateral rights.

The frequency i think. Most airlines had a frequency / seat cap under the bubble agreements

Finally, GoI announces resumption of "normal" flights from Mar 27. This will benefit SQ, BA, TK, Thai amongst others. For AI it will actually be a downgrade now they have to complete with everyone.

TK for example was quoting very low prices for both business and economy on the US - India sector for flights in late March. For EK, QR and Etihad, not much change though as they were able to take connecting passengers, but prices will be lower as they too have to compete.
