Flydubai to launch direct flights to Kozhikode from February

Dubai-based budget carrier Flydubai Thursday announced the launch of its direct flight services to Kozhikode, starting February next year.
The gulf airlines currently operates 30 flight per week in and out of India to eight cities, including Thiruvananthapuram from its hub in Dubai.
However, it's discontinuing operations from Thiruvananthapuram and replacing it with Kozhikode due to the existing air service agreement, which restricts the number of points of call.
"We are pleased to add Kozhikode to our network of eight destinations in India, offering greater connectivity to our passengers. The new route will provide more passengers from India with access to Dubai and beyond via its aviation hub together with the new codeshare agreement," said Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president, commercial (UAE, GCC, Subcontinent and Africa), Flydubai.
The Middle East's largest airline Emirates will codeshare on the Dubai-Kozhikode route as part of the its partnership with the Dubai-based full service carrier, the release said.

flydubai 1Q19 India service changes
26 December 2018
flydubai at the end of January 2019 is operating last Dubai – Thiruvananthapuram service, currently served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft, 3 times a week.
From Dubai, last flight is scheduled on 29JAN19, Thiruvananthapuram on 30JAN19.
FZ439 DXB2045 – 0230+1TRV 73H 135
FZ440 TRV0315 – 0630DXB 73H 246
From 01FEB19, the airline will operate Dubai – Kozhikode service, 3 times a week with 737-800.
FZ429 DXB2020 – 0145+1CCJ 73H 135
FZ430 CCJ0305 – 0605DXB 73H 246

| It is a win-win for EK and FlyDubai. EK continues to serve TRV (with 2 daily flights) and EK gets to code share flights to CCJ. EK can fly up to 10 cities in India so code share to CCJ should not be a problem. |
