Are CX 77Ws 9 across or 10 across? I suppose CX must be doing well on the Bay Area - MAA traffic.

What is the point of having two flights so close together in timing (both in BOM and DEL)? Clearly these flights are more about their connecting bank than O&D. Unless people think only red eyes work from DEL-HKG? |

HKG is an expensive destination for both Indian tourists and businessmen. Red eyes operating Eastward save the cost of a hotel for one night. Why do you think over 99% of transatlantic flights are also red eyes?
It's not just CX, but both AI and Jet who also exclusively operate red eyes from India to HKG.
It's no conspiracy. |

Aren't most of AI's and Jet's HKG passengers O&D?
If so there is no reason why AI and Jet should operate red eye flights to HKG.
Besides, Jet's planes sit on the tarmac in HKG for a whole day before returning, which is a waste of aircraft. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Not really Jet flies a lot of passengers on to Australia,Phillippines, East Asia and West Coast of code share flights.
And for the avg Indian tourist - it wud mean additional hotel night or a day of sightseeing wasted. |
