Air India is officially retiring their Airbus A310 (pax) fleet & offering the last 3 of these aircraft (VT- EJJ, VT-EJK & VT-EJL) for sale.
VT-EJJ has been w.f.u., while VT-EJK & VT-EJL are still in service.

The official tender for sale of these 3 aircraft has been floated today:

I wonder who'll buy those things. Who is still interested in A310s? Fedex?, Air Transat?

..and if the sale deal falls through... then there will be talk of coverting them into freighters (without the AI mgmt. actually having any concrete plan on how to use them! Mad ).. and after getting re-painted in the cargo livery.. sadly decaying away! Sad

On a differnet note, one can use this link to get to the old Indian Airlines site, and see some IC tenders that have rather current dates! Has this not been `integrated', whatever this means?
Cheers, Sumantra.

A310 Freighter conversion & its Economical viability will depend on the D check due & costs involved with mods to accomplish.

The said tender has expired (after a 10 day extension) & has been removed from the website.

That being said, from patkini's TR in the TR section, it appears at least one A310 is in the process of being scrapped at BOM.

I believe only one A310 frame has survived the chopping block. VT-EJK.
Spotted at AI's boneyard at BOM in 2012.
