Fly Easy seeks DGCA permit for takeoff
August 11, 2015
Fly Easy, the subsidiary of Bangalore-based ABC Aviation and Training Services, has applied for air operating permit (AOP) with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Officials at the aviation regulator said the document verification of Fly Easy is in progress and is likely to get the permit in the next four to five months.
DGCA officials said document verification is the first step after an airline is given NOC, followed by demonstration phase and certification phase. Fly Easy is known to have started hiring pilots for the demonstration phase, which takes into account the flight safety parameters that carriers have to follow. The last stage — the certification stage is after which airlines can start opertions. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

FlyEasy in talks to sell 49% to Air Arabia
6 Nov, 2015
Regional airline aspirant FlyEasy is in talks to sell a 49% stake to the Sharjah-based low-cost carrier Air Arabia, two people with knowledge of the matter said.
The managing director of the Bengaluru-based company has sought the aviation ministry's approval for foreign direct investment even as it awaits a flying license from the regulator, said the people, who did not want to be identified. The ministry is yet to decide on the matter, they said. Neither FlyEasy officials nor Air Arabia had responded to ET's emailed queries till late evening on Thursday.
ET had first learned last month that FlyEasy was planning to go in for a stake sale. However, in emailed responses at the time, both FlyEasy owner Rajesh Ebrahim and Air Arabia had denied the development. If the sale goes through, it will be the fourth instance of FDI from a foreign airline deciinto an Indian carrier, after Jet Airways sold 24% stake to Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways in 2013 and Tata Sons formed two airlines through joint ventures with Malaysia's AirAsia Berhad and Singapore Airlines last year. It will also be the first instance of FDI into a regional carrier. India currently has two regional airlines, Air Costa and Air Pegasus, while several others, like FlyEasy, wait in the wings. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

It appears that Flyeasy ran into trouble … both aircrafts painted and ready for long .. by flyeasy is not picked them up .. Both are being taken back by GECAS from current Lessee Flynas and most probably being taken by Air costa. One of the E 170 has been lease return check and other will be return in near future. Both ERJ 190 are due for heavy check . To maintain minimum fleet during peak season Air costa is desperate to induct these two aircrafts as soon as possible _________________ Mig |

Flyeasy signs agreement to buy majority stake in Air Pegasus
Jan 10, 2017
Flyeasy has signed a pact to purchase an up to 74% stake in its peer, grounded carrier Air Pegasus, in the first sign of consolidation in the regional space. Air Pegasus' founder Shyson Thomas will hold the rest.
"The first phase investment is Rs 26 crore out of which Rs 13 crore will be for capital and Rs 14 crore for restructuring the airline's debts. The second phase will be to the tune of Rs 60 crore for expansion. That will be a combination of equity and debt," Rajesh Ebrahim, group CEO of the airline told ET.
"We are yet to finalise the exact shareholding," said Thomas. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

So one airline that doesn't know when or whether it will start operating has invested in another that has gone bust.
