NAC expands Delhi flight frequency

Dec 5, 2016

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced expanding its operations to New Delhi, India.

With effect from December 20, NAC will launch double daily flights to Delhi, the airline said in a statement. It currently flies 11 weekly flights on the sector.

Delhi is the most lucrative route for airlines in terms of demand and profitability. The corporation said that expanding operations to Delhi is prompted by demand and also tourism entrepreneurs’ requests.

Last February, NAC had resumed flights to Delhi, after ceasing its services in 2013 on the sector due to lack of planes. Currently, three Indian carriers, Jet Airways, Air India, IndiGo Air and Bhutan-based Druk Air connect Kathmandu with Delhi.

With NAC’s additional flights, frequencies on the Kathmandu-Delhi sector would increase to 60 weekly flights.
