India seeking four Tu22M3 strategic bombers from Russia

India is seeking to buy four strategic Tu-22M3 bombers and other high-tech weaponry from Russia, Interfax reported in Moscow. The announcment was made at the recent ‘Make in India’ pavilion at the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg.

The Tupolev Tu-22M NATO reporting name: Backfire) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, long-range strategic and maritime strikebomber with immense war capabilities

The Indian Air Force also wants to purchase 80 Mi-17 helicopters and six Il-76 airplanes, in which the Israeli radar system, the ‘Falcon,’ can be installed, the news agency reported. India has also evinced interest in buying twelve S-400 ‘Triumf’ anti-aircraft missile systems.
