This is kind of turning into a royal mess now, in terms of organization and stuff...
Anyway, here's part 1 (of 2) of my visit to the Museum of flight..
So like I said, got off the ship, check in for the flight, called an Uber to drive us to the Museum of Flight..
Part 2 coming up soon! _________________ http://www.youtube.com/c/JishnuBasu777 |

Superb pics across TRs. Wish there was atleast one well kept air museum in India. Neither the HAL one nor the one in DEL is so well kept _________________ www.networkthoughts.com |

Lovely Part 1, Sir. I have been reading the reports part-by-part, inch-by-inch, savouring the printed word, and the clicked pictures. While I will agree with Ameya Sir's judgement about museums in India, frankly the Museum of Flight was a tad disappointing in terms of the overall collection, if I compare it with Monino/Datangshan/the USAF Museum Dayton, Ohio/the National Air and Space Museum at Washington DC and its Udvar Hazy Center at Dulles/the RAF Museum in Hendon - only in terms of the length and breadth of the collection, not the extreme care and maintenance that has gone behind these beauties. Your trip report also brought back many sweet memories of my only trip to the same place: some of the collection was a bit different at that time. Yes, the covered hall is th main attraction: I see that some exotic have made it to the park outside as well. The SeaTac traffic is always interesting, and the Boeing gems are a sight to remember. Thank you for re-kindling some sweet memories for me. I look forward to reading your Part 2.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Thanks so much Ameya sir! Agreed about museums in India - there should be more, or at least well kept! Sad to hear about HAL I was last there when I 4 or 5 years old...I could not walk because of a bad pain in hips due to an injection
Sumantra sir, thanks so much for your detailed reply! I have yet to visit quite a few air museums in the states, I have only visited the museum of flight and a museum in Tulsa Oklahoma (stay tuned, for when it comes out.... ), I am yet to visit the museum close by in Fargo!
I was quite amazed with what I saw in the MuOF, I guess there is something way bigger out there, and I have to see them all!
The new pavilion will be opening soon, with the first ever Boeing 747 in there, with the other planes. I hope you get to go back and see those beauties once again soon!
Regards
