UK Immigration Minister announces new visa improvements for Indian nationals
News
17-Feb-2016 11:08 AM
British High Commission New Delhi stated (16-Feb-2016) the UK’s Immigration Minister James Brokenshire announced a package of new visa service improvements for Indian nationals. Improvements to the service include expanding the same day, super-priority visa services to first time visitors and work visas. The three to five day priority visa service will also be expanded to visit, study and work routes. From the end of Feb-2016, Indian visit visa applicants will be able to benefit from a new quicker and easier online application form. As part of the announcement, the minister also revealed the launch of a new visa application centre (VAC) in Lucknow, Utter Pradesh - the first in India’s most popular state. Immigration Minister James Brokenshire said: "India is one of the UK’s largest visa market and we continue to make improvements to the service here to make it as easy and straightforward as possible for our customers to apply for their visas. We are pleased that more and more Indian visitors are choosing to come to the UK on holiday and for business. Last year we saw a 17% increase in the number of visit visas issued" |

Title is misleading - the normal visa processing is as slow and painful as it was, but now they are offering a charged for "Accelerated" processing. Talk about milking visitors dry - well before they set foot in the UK _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

And UK is known for milking visitors. UK visa is the costliest VISA in the world. Standard visa (good for 3 to 6 months) is Rs. 8500 and long term visit visa (visas good for up to 10 years) are up to Rs. 80,000. And even then they intend to charge more for expediting visa applications. |
