Consistent Service but delayed flight: Jet Airways from Pune to Delhi

To attend the Vistara event, I made a redemption booking when the 50% offer on redemption was going on.

The food looked like being catered from AUH and was tasty, the service was OK but Imli was missing !

I chose to quote the whole structure (the two sentences), since this is a beautiful summary of the experience!
Once again, a typically delicious Ameya TR, with information about choices, narrowing down on the choices, getting the aircraft and its rotations. The new Jet Airways website: the verifications haven't happened for me, at least. Anyway, I look forward to my next booking on Jet, to see the website, and experience Jet again. S2 flights numbers: I too seem to recount hearing this in a few announcements over the country, but as you guess, it may be for an academic reason alone.
The food: the menu has been same since ages. There has been almost no change. The menu is not bad as such, but this is an aspect Jet could look at. It was similar even on Jet Konnect with the BoB service.
The soggy hash browns: this is not good imagination, planning, or execution. It doesn't work out with the food uplifted from a station far away. A potato mash would have been a far better option if a delayed reheat was expected. Air India does not make these mistakes, at least statistically often, since I fly them with some level of regularity.
The missing tamarind candy is a disappointment, especially since it was Jet Airways which popularised it (it was also served on IC and S2, but Jet did so regularly, and popularised it among Indian flyers!).
Indigos ground ops and handling, and its efficiency, has to be seen to be believed. Sir, thank you once again for a lovely TR: I wonder if you could put links to the Chef's table two-part report also, on this, and the other TR. I hope to be able to read the other one, sometime today.
Over the next meal, perhaps.
Cheers, Sumantra.

Wonderful report Ameya on Jet Airways specially where they have been in the spotlight for fall in service standards recently. Based on what I read Jet Airways is slowly but surely pulling up its socks.
Interesting to note the catering was airlifted from Abu-Dhabi, who knows maybe from a cost perspective it might be cheaper and helps to turn around the plane quickly.

Thanks sir for reading the TRs in detail.
I hope the academic reasons of S2 do not confuse the passenger.
Thanks again!

Thanks a lot srinivas

Yes from a cost perspective may be or from logistics perspective.

ATR to HYD is the only true night halt in PNQ for 9W now a days

AUH-PNQ does quick turnaround to DEL
and DEL-PNQ does quick turnaround to BLR

so in both these cases the meal can be uplifted at AUH and DEL to save cost of negligible uplift in PNQ.

I wonder if the ATR has its catering done the previous night in HYD !

Hey Ameya, great TR! Also great to know of Jet's improving standards (relative to what they were not too long ago!)

I flew 9W256 in January (dep BOM at 0230, arr CMB at 0500), and I was one row behind the emergency exits. Even then the FA asked the people to be awake for take off and landing. I don't remember if they were awake, but that's unlikely!

Food looked okay, yeah the hash brown looks messy!

Regards
Jish

Thanks.

Internationally 9W seems to be doing way better in terms of food and service as compared to domestic. I still dont know if it matches the global above average standards or its more like " Itne paise mein itna hi milega" since they are not charging a premium for tickets too
