Nice TR, Thanks.
They seem somewhat sloppy. Hand written boarding passes, and last minute decorations before the inaugural flight. Hope they straighten up their act.
That SG Q400 looks like it is waiting for the scrappers. I hope it doesn't end up as a few thousand juice cans. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

BLR-CDP starting on 7th June
BLR 1040 1130 CDP OP 131
CDP 1150 1235 BLR OP 132
So the sole ATR is better utilized now doing a BLR-TRV-BLR-CDP-BLR-HBX-BLR-TRV-BLR daily rotation |

BLR- Tirupathi has not succeeded, not sure about this, but the train/road connections between BLR and CDP are not as good as Tirupathi. They should also try HYD-CDP. |

OP announces 3pw Bengaluru - Madurai effective 26 June
OP121 BLR1040 - 1200IXM AT7 156
OP122 IXM1230 - 1350BLR AT7 156
A very risky gambit, given how both SG and 9W tried and miserably failed on the route. However, given the days they are plying the route, seems like they are testing the waters for a direct flight service, on the strongest days for demand, IMHO.
Best of luck, OP! _________________ |

If OP thinks BLR IXM is like BLR HBX then they have got it wrong big time.
And just because Indigo doesn't operate on the route doesnt mean that OP will do well here.
Maybe better to have kept the aircraft idle or test out BLR IXE instead. |

2 generations. Second one VT-EGC `Harshvardhan' joined the spotting fleet recently, was christened some time back, if I remember correctly from numerous FB posts, and some beautiful pictures. Again, welcome to a second innings on AI.net, ex-AI.net founder member(?)
Sriram: all leg-pulling apart, please contribute to this forum as well. Pictures, articles, trip reports, and the whole hog. We are waiting expectantly.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

I am not sure why this route (BLR-IXM) has not done well in the past. IXM has a daily nonstop flight to HYD, which based on the market size, historic connections and proximity should have even less traffic, but yet it is still being operated by Spicejet, which has cancelled numerous non performing routes. Some of the traffic may be going to CMB as the same aircraft continues to CMB. |

On that note, OP seems to be quite lucky or well-planned in this regard. Apparently, forward bookings have been very good for this flight and that the flight is carrying 50-60 pax each way. Also note, that the fares for this flight have been consistently higher than the base Rs.1234/- OW, that they quote. So it may be third time's a charm for BLR-IXM _________________ |

Air Pegasus to connect Chennai, Hyd, Tuticorn and Puducherry
July 22, 2015
Air Pegasus today said it is planning to soon connect Chennai, Hyderabad, Tuticorin and Puducherry from Bengaluru.
Since its inception, it has connected Bengaluru to the four cities of Hubli, Trivandrum, Madurai, Kadapa and flying over 30,000 passengers with an ontime performance rate of 94 per cent (99 per cent in June), the company said in a release.
"To serve the increasing number of sectors, we intend to lease in three more aircrafts (ATR aircrafts with 66 seats) in the next six months, taking our fleet size to five," Air Pegasus Managing Director Shyson Thomas said.
"Apart from being a lean and mean model airline, we have been also been able to attract aircraft at an attractive lease rate and hence have been able to pass on the benefit to our passengers," he said.
With the strength of 200 staff manning flight operations at five airports, Air Pegasus is now firmly placed at a vantage point to take-off for its next level of growth, the company said.
Based out of the Kempegowda International Airport here, Air Pegasus had earlier said that it will scale up services gradually to connect Kochi, Chennai, Belgaum, Rajahmundry and Puducherry and several more cities in the region.
Decor Aviation, which owns and operates Air Pegasus, is part of the Decor Group of Companies providing ground handling services to Indian and foreign carriers across 11 airports in India. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

According to a recent interview, OP's MD Shyson Thomas says the airline is planning to add BLR-IXE, MAA-TCR/IXM and may increase HBX to twice daily. It's been going good for the airline so far, with the airline logging Load Factors of 78% and 73% for the months of May and June. IXM is doing better than expected, with nearly 50-60 pax on most flights.
Given recent indications, OP's next rotation may very well be - BLR-HBX-BLR-IXM-MAA-TCR-MAA-IXM-BLR _________________ |

OP announces new flights effective August 20th
2nd daily Bengaluru - Hubballi
OP113 BLR0705 - 0820HBX AT7 D
OP114 HBX0845 - 1000BLR AT7 D
Bengaluru - Madurai increases from 3 weekly to Daily
OP121 BLR1615 - 1735IXM AT7 D
OP122 IXM2135 - 2300BLR AT7 D
Six weekly flights between Bengaluru - Mangalore
OP102 BLR1040 - 1150IXE AT7 x2 *looks like it'll be a continuation of TRV-BLR*
OP116 IXE1215 - 1325BLR AT7 x2
Daily flights between Chennai - Madurai
OP221 MAA1955 - 2110IXM AT7 D
OP222 IXM1800 - 1920MAA AT7 D
Three weekly flights between Bengaluru - Chennai
OP114 BLR1025 - 1125MAA AT7 156 *possible continuation of HBX-BLR, but bookings unavailable*
OP124 MAA1150 - 1300BLR AT7 156
One thing I find that are quite disastrous - 3pw BLR-MAA. Also, 0 points for Air Pegasus copying 9W's timings on BLR-IXE.
Other than that, best of luck OP. _________________ |

Air Pegasus to acquire 3 more aircraft by year-end
August 20, 2015
Air Pegasus, the new start-up airline focused on southern Indian routes, will lease out three more aircraft by end of this year, taking its total number of aircraft to five. The airline, as part of its expansion plan on Thursday launched its flight from Chennai to Bangaluru.
Shyson Thomas, managing director, Air Pegasus, told media persons here on Thursday that the company will be leasing out three more aircraft from Vietnam Airlines, and of the three one will be added to the existing fleet by October while the remaining two would be added by December. The aircraft will be of ATR 72 models which give high fuel efficiency with low maintenance requirement, he said.
“Following the good response by the passengers and the overwhelming patronage by Air Pegasus in the first four months since inception, we have decided to expand our services to rise to the expectations of the new age customer,” he said.

Air Pegasus adds aircraft to its fleet, orders five more
March 30, 2016
Air Pegasus has added a new ATR 72-500 aircraft taking its fleet size to a total of three.
The addition is part of its plan to take the fleet tally to 10 aircraft by end of the calendar year, Air Pegasus said.
"We will receive two more aircraft within two months and have ordered five more aircraft," MD of Air Pegasus, Shyson Thomas said.
With the new aircraft, Air Pegasus will spread its wings to Puducherry, Goa, Kochi and Vijayawada, the airline said in a statement.

Air Pegasus investing Rs 100 crore to expand operations
Apr 14, 2016
Air Pegasus would invest Rs 100 crore in 2016-17 to expand operations and connect more cities across south India, a top official said on Thursday.
"The investment will be in addition to Rs 100 crore we have invested to launch our operations in the first year with three ATR aircraft, connecting five intra and inter-state cities," Pegasus managing director Shyson Thomas told reporters here.
The city-based feeder airline firm will begin a thrice weekly service from Bengaluru to Puducherry on April 25, daily to Panaji (Goa) from April 27 and soon to Kochi (Kerala) and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).
"We are acquiring an additional five 70-seater ATRs this year on dry lease to connect more cities and expand our service to fly more people to places that remain unconnected in south India," said Thomas.
The airline plans to connect Belagavi (Karnataka), Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu) and Rajamundry and Tirupathi (Andhra Pradesh) from Bengaluru later this year.
The year-old regional airline offers daily feeder service from Bengaluru to Hubballi and Mangaluru in Karnataka, Chennai and Madurai in Tamil Nadu and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
"We have suspended our service (weekly thrice) to Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh from Bengaluru due to poor patronage on the route," Thomas admitted.
The airline also operates a daily service from Chennai to Madurai and back.
