Since their fleet consists of one aircraft, that would be VT-APA.

Quick question regarding the maintenance of Air Pegasus. Line & base maintenance of Air Pegasus would be given to Airworks. Will there be maintenance technicians from Air Pegasus side also since Airworks don't have line maintenance in Cochin,Hubli etc. ???
Can somebody throw a light on it.

Air Pegasus is same story like most of airline start up in India without understanding business .. There is interview of MD in Flying Engineers which give guys very clear idea of management understanding of aviation .. As usual aircraft has been bought in hurry to meet NOC deadline … There is no LRU , Spare purchased planned to purchased , No set of mandatory stuff like ECTM , Aircraft performance engineer . I understand there are some AD has to be complied which was not checked at time of acceptance of aircraft and some LRU needs to be replaced which are u/s .. which are holding .. further action .. I understand one ex KFA ATR fleet manager has been hired on contract for three month to get aircraft CFA and operational .. by the way these things are nothing to do KFA non-payment to Lessor or government policy on aviation !!!!!!!!!!!!!! normal excuse !!

They have not received their aop .Last meeting with DGCA they were returned as company still not completed all mandatory item like MEL. Still no inventory no engineering team ..
by the way KFA failure is not responsible for this delay in approval !!!!! One good reason they always quote for last one year delay

They seem to be a rather sloppy venture. Postponing the proving flight has to be the limit.

Don't think they will ever get off the ground. I hope I am proved wrong.

I guess you meant CJB, and not CMB. They can't fly to CMB yet.

Pegasus received their AOP yesterday. Initial routes likely to be from BLR to TRV & HBX. Their website also shows Kochi coming soon.

From going through various pages in the website, I understand they would not be a typical Low Cost Carrier - but likely to provide a value service. It seems they'd provide a snack box to passengers on board.

You bring out a very interesting point "value service". As a regular passenger to COK and TRV, for me "value service" is not a meal but an affordable yet secure transportation to/form the airport. Both airports the cheapest taxi ride costs a minimum of 500 Rs even if it is to a nearby address and public transportation is not available in TRV and subject to long waits and inconveniently scheduled routes most of the time at COK.

I do have an objection of shelling out compulsorily 500 Rupees for my ride home in the airport taxi, when an Auto can take me home at half the price. If you don't want to allow Auto rickshaws in the airport, fine, but at least provide access like DEL and BLR does, access at free or at nominal charge, transportation to a point where I can take the auto.

Access to cheaper transportation to/rom the airport will be a far better "value proposition" for me than any boxed meal!!!

I don't think any airline can provide you the value proposition you are asking for. The airlines will definitely not be willing to spend their already precious capital for providing cheap ways for people to get to the airport.

Transportation services to and from the airport have to be the responsibility of the local authorities. I know of HYD as an example where Telangana State Road Transport provides an excellent airport shuttle service connecting RGIA to various points in the city.

First of all even in India, airlines have had agreements for public transportation earlier. Atleast in the 1970s the same TRV airport had transportation arranged by the then Indian Airline from their city office (at that time next to Mascot Hotel) to the airport.

Much later in the mid 2000s, Air Deccan had an arrangement at COK airport with a prominent local fleet operator to provide transportation in mini coaches to/from down town for passengers travelling on their daily COK TRV flight .

Now if Air Pegasus has to survive they better come up with some thing out of the box. With any number of vocal well wishers making it very clear in this thread itself what they think of the airline, I sincerely hope the airline after successfully managing to get an AOP despite the best wishes of its very articulate cheer leading team here and else where , will try its best to succeed.

I agree completely with you. It often costs more than the air ticket to hire a cab from COK airport (I haven't been to TRV Airport - so no comments on that). I generally time my tickets in such a way that I have the probability of getting those rare KSRTC buses from the airport. I have tried contacting KSRTC authorities multiple times to secure a reliable bus service from the airport.

At the risk of sounding like an advertisement: You now have the option of hiring Uber or Ola Cabs from the airport now. Just make sure you book through the app right after landing - the cab will be outside when u come out of the airport. Their charges are nominal and is based on actual kms run.

Air Pegasus to start flying from 12 April

Apr 02 2015

Air Pegasus’ maiden flight is set to take off from India’s information technology capital to Hubli on 12 April, flying in the face of concerns about the viability of standalone regional airlines.

Air Pegasus, the third airline to be launched in India in the past year, after AirAsia India and Vistara, aims to focus on South India for now. Its introductory flights will connect Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and Hubli.

“Positioning of regional airline is not by chance, it is by choice,” Shyson Thomas, managing director of Air Pegasus, told reporters in Bengaluru on Wednesday, underlining the potential opportunity in the under-served region.

Following the launch, Air Pegasus will look at eventually operating flights to Kozhikode, Kochi and Puducherry.

With a fleet of three ATR 72-500s, Air Pegasus wants to position itself as “a right-cost airline” and plans to offer all-inclusive fares, with no hidden costs, even providing food on board, unlike other low-cost airlines.

Kapil Kaul, South Asia CEO of consulting firm Capa, said Air Pegasus could face “viability challenges” as a stand-alone entity due to pricing pressures in the market. Kaul said it was “critical (for Air Pegasus) to be well capitalized as the road to profitability is likely to be long drawn and painful.”

Air Pegasus will face competition from established names such as SpiceJet and start-ups such as FlyEasy in the southern region.

Underserved, if any region is well served it is the southern region. Air Costa, Spice Jet already serve the smaller cities, in addition to Jet, AI, Indigo, Air Asia serving BLR, TRV. I just don't think Southern India needs one more airline.

Spot on, Sir. The concept of local airlines have really made an impact in the South. Local airlines are few in the North, and apart from Madhya Pradesh's Ventura Air, I doubt if there are too many operators with a good network, or service. It has a lot to do with the culture of the region, and the work culture. Most of us Delhi'ites often say that culture starts when one crosses the Vindhyas Razz (No offence intended to anyone, but frankly, as a hard-core Delhi'ite, `work culture' is a bit of an oxymoron here. Neither do we Delhi'ites work, nor do we have any culture Razz)
Cheers, Sumantra.

Very steady hand, Balagopal, and lovely propeller illusions all the way. Eagerly waiting for the TR: on A.net with a link here, I guess.
