I have been following this for a while, and it is now emerging that there is an IPL angle to the thing. The whole affair is as murky as they come.

How did an erudite, highly educated, apparently civilized person who had a stellar career in the UN end up getting into such a mess? Not that any of the above attributes make a person infallible, but still?

Hopefully with the Congress out of power, a proper investigation will be done and the truth will emerge. But it is still disappointing to see a person who was till recently, one of the most inspiring people in Indian polity, come to this.

Inspiring people in Indian polity ?? Him ? Surely you are joking, sir! There is no such thing in todays India. And educated civilized people have done a lot bad in the Indian society. This one's gone public only for political reasons.

I hope we find the truth ASAP, and if it does turn out that it was Shashi who did her in, he gets the full punishment under Indian laws.

Of course no. We only get inspired by Sakshi Maharaj n his ilk. Ur global stature as a diplomat par excellence be damned

why drag the likes of Sakshi maharaj into this discussion?

Every end has extremist morons, ignore and move on.

As for Tharoor, i'm quietly hoping it wasn't him, he comes across as rational above everything else.

How does it matter how good a diplomat one is ? Wasnt a former chief of IMF, an excellent diplomat of his trade, indicted in a personal scandal ?
Dont really understand why people are seeking solace in his past professional credentials with respect to a personal affair, which has gone public, like I said, for political reasons. Its the price of fame.
