The two lines, in gold and red, running along the length of the fuselage are missing.

Etihad Airways has unveiled its new livery design, which will be added to its entire fleet over the next three years.

The "Facets of Abu Dhabi" pattern was created by brand consultants Landor Associates in partnership with the Gulf airline.

It was inspired by "traditional Emirati design patterns, the landscapes of the desert and the geometric shapes found in the modern architecture of Abu Dhabi".

It "uses a colour palette which reflects the varying hues of the landscape of the UAE, from the darker sands of Liwa to the lighter colours seen in the Northern Emirates".

It doesn't look too good - bit of cookie cutter all around.

Along with the current American Airlines livery, this has to rank as one of the worst amongst the major carriers. Heck, even my <3 year old niece can make better artwork !

I am inclined to agree. It looks like they gave a the rear of the airplane along with glue and a bunch of brown paper triangles to a bunch of pre-schoolers.
