After all the perception that we have about the Indian police I have some positive experiences to share.
A thief attempted to break open in our house yesterday evening. He failed to break the door thanks to the sturdy godrej latch. When one of my sisters returned, she saw the outside lock broken. There was suspcion that the thief maybe inside itself. She called the police and in less than 10 minutes they were at the house; lodged an FIR and gave us a helpline number. Extremely courteous dealing with the police.
Something similar had happened sometime ago when my sister complained about the goons passing nasty comments on girls in the locality where we say.
It is heartening to know, the police acted in a timely and professional manner. |

Hmm. Sad to see Pune is deteriorating just like the other major metros. ITs a sign that its grown up way beyond its original scope.
Pune police somehow do not seem to have an adequate handle on the chain-snatching incidents so far. Not to mention the occasional waylaying/car-jacking incidents at night, esp on the western suburbs along the Bypass. |
