This is unexpected. They don't have the 787s on order either. I think they want to stick to the 777s for as long as possible, and will shortly be upgauging their interest in the 777-X.

It is quite conceivable that this is going to become an all-380 and 777 operator in a matter of a few years.

Well - the reason for cancellation is interesting - the 350 is too small for them. They will probably buy more 380s!
