May be Shiv Sena would have been happy with the Aviation portfolio instead of Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who could have been allotted the Heavy Industries. Raju is from the Visakhapatnam area, where there many heavy industries located.

I am glad that the first thing he is going to do with MHA is to remove the ex-Royal Son-in-Law from the Security Check exemption list. That was a most brazen act carried out for so many years with no one even questioning it.

Is this confirmed? If yes, then it's great news...

Just saw this in TOI...

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/New-govt-may-strip-Robert-Vadra-of-special-status/articleshow/35740410.cms

Quote:
NEW DELHI: With the Gandhi family out of power, son-in-law Robert Vadra may lose his exalted exempt-from-frisking-at-airports status.

After taking over as aviation minister of Friday, Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati said that "security should be meaningful not ornamental" in reference to Vadra who is the only individual named in the list of dignitaries exempt from security checks at airports. All others on that list are high constitutional positions with Vadra being the only individual.

Hope this happens soon. The National Son-In-Law has been enjoying such privileges for too long! Evil or Very Mad

Had Priyanka asked for it earlier, when momma dear was pulling the government's puppet strings, the average Indian's respect for her would have been a wee bit higher than what it is.

Doing it at this point of time is only a ploy to avoid the limelight, and any controversy as a consequence.

Doesn't sound dissimilar to the Congress pulling the plug on Rahul Gandhi's Prime Minsterial pitch when the going got tough.
