The DeHavilland DH82 Tigermoth was the first airplane my father flew as a flight cadet in the Indian Air Force in the early 1950s, and had his first solo flight on one of these in Jan 1951.
While I am uncertain if that was in "HU723", I had this custom built in the U.K. based on the info I got from his best (IAF and AI) buddy who is still with us, and had his first solo that same day, on this very airplane.

Here's to the DH82 Tigermoth, my old man's first and favorite airplane, that kicked off his career as an aviator.

Superb, even more poignant because of your father's link with the type. Your quest for detail is simply amazing. A beautiful plane, and a lovely model.

Ah, I wish I knew ..... wouldn't that be something !
I do have a pic of him in the cockpit of HU728, though.
