Well we all know how effective the CBI has been, so this case will go nowhere either, at least in a hurry.

Whever there is an office to go to such as in BOM, many staff still not able to get other jobs, report for work AFAIK, especially those who are from the respective towns. Many of the smaller offices like COK and MAA have closed down long back and there is no office premises. Same I guess for airport staff both landisde and airside.

Non aviation, but it still relates.

Force India worried about financial hit

Quote:
"Most of the gaps in prize money (in the Constructors') are between £3.5million to £4million, but unfortunately the gap between sixth and seventh is more like £6million to £7million.

"So it's a big hit, not one we want to be taking."

And then when they will hit a financial cliff, they will hire a driver who pays (Max Chilton by the current rumours. A horrendously slow young chap), and then they won't score points, then the cycle goes on....

So the Fat One's fortunes dipped by several million, thanks to his toy-train airline and the rupee freefall.

The reaction from Mr "Look at me I'm an attention whore"? Priceless!

"Thanks to the Almighty that Forbes has removed me from the so-called Billionaires list. Less jealousy, less frenzy and wrongful attacks."

Kingfisher loan shadow over Vijay Mallya’s Goa villa

Quote:
MUMBAI/GOA: Liquor baron Vijay Mallya's sprawling villa in Goa is once again caught in a tug-of-war between creditors and his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines.

On Friday, SBICAP Trustee Company announced that it took possession of the sprawling three-acre Kingfisher Villa at Condolim, Goa on October 30. The notice came after Kingfisher Airlines failed to pay Rs 6,027 crore to the firm. The guarantors to the loan are United Breweries (Holdings) and Mallya himself.

Immediately, Mallya's legal team moved the senior civil judge 'A' court, Mapusa, on Friday. The court ordered the creditors to maintain status quo and restrained them from "dispossessing" or "interfering" with the property.

Prakash Mirpuri, GM, corporate communications, UB Group, said, "The court injunction restrains banks from taking any action against KF Villa, Goa. This injunction was initially granted on April 26, 2013, and confirmed/continued by the court at subsequent hearings, including on Friday." SBICAP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SBI Capital Markets. Its notice on Friday said the Division 'A' court at Mapusa had permitted the "secured creditors to take action in accordance with the law" since the borrower/guarantors failed to repay the amount.

"The public is hereby cautioned not to deal with the property and any dealings with it will be subject to the charge of the SBICAP Trustee Company for an amount of Rs 6,027.42 crore and interest thereon," it said.

In Goa on Friday, news spread that creditors from Mumbai and Bangalore had sealed the villa. But employees at the beachside villa denied this. According to sources, the villa is currently undergoing extensive maintenance and refurbishment work at a cost of over Rs 5 crore. The entire air-conditioning system, furniture and some of the flooring in parts of the property have been replaced, it is learnt.

Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth is said to be a frequent visitor to the villa, as are many other celebrity friends of the king of good times who is known to be a lavish host. The property is valued at Rs 37 crore and the villa has three huge bedrooms and a number of lounges besides a huge garden. Mallya is said to be particularly possessive about this property and considers it his "sacrosanct family home".

A UB group official, talking on condition of anonymity, said there was an attempt by SBICAP to take possession of the Kingfisher Villa, but said Mallya remained in control of the property. "All that we can say right now is that the move to take possession is 'bad in law'," the executive added.

Early, Mallya had received a reprieve with a civil court in Goa restraining lenders from taking possession of the villa, which belonged to UB Group and not Kingfisher Airlines.

On Friday, SBICAP Trustee Company announced that it took possession of the sprawling three-acre Kingfisher Villa at Condolim in Goa on October 30.

Lessors fly in for Kingfisher Airlines planes

Nov 8, 2013

A year after Kingfisher Airlines shut operations, at least six engineers of a foreign aircraft lease company are at work at the city airport repairing two aircraft to fly them back to their home country.

The aircraft, which have been parked at the airport for long, were leased by the foreign firm to Kingfisher, said sources.

A spokesperson of Mumbai International Airport Limited, refused to comment.

Sources said that of nine aircraft belonging to Kingfisher Airlines which were until recently parked at the airport, five have been taken back by the other companies which leased the aircraft to Kingfisher. Two private jets are parked at the airport as they were impounded by tax authorities earlier this year while two others are being repaired.

“The foreign company is putting in a lot of money to get the planes fit to fly,” said an airport source.

Kingfisher Airlines posts $114 million loss in Q2

Quote:
NEW DELHI: Kingfisher Airlines Ltd, which has been grounded for more than a year, reported yet another quarterly loss with no income from operations.

Net loss was 7.16 billion rupees for its fiscal second quarter ended September 30, compared with a net loss of 7.54 billion rupees a year earlier, Kingfisher said in a filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.

Kingfisher, once India's no.2 carrier and headed by flamboyant liquor baron Vijay Mallya, has not flown since October last year for want of cash. Bids to revive operations have seen little success so far.

The company reiterated on Friday that it was exploring various options to recapitalise and resume operations and that talks were on with prospective investors.

Kingfisher was in talks with a foreign investor for a potential stake sale, Chairman Mallya had said on September 24, without naming any investor. Mallya has said several times in the past that the company was in talks with potential investors, but the plans have not materialized so far.

There were 9 ATRs in MAA when I landed there in Aug . Also 1 A320, iirc. Have they also been repossessed?

I wish the whole KF saga would end quickly - instead of it dragging on forever. Luckily it seems like the courts have recently allowed the lenders to cash in on the collateral - shares/ properties etc.

AWAS moves to repossess 14 aircraft formerly with India's Kingfisher

Kingfisher Airlines aircraft that have lain idle following the carrier's collapse in 2012 are to be repossessed by lessor, Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services (AWAS). Reports in India's The Hindu newspaper state the fourteen aircraft, which include seven A320-200s, are still stored at various airports around the country despite the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation giving the lessor the go-ahead to repossess its aircraft in March 2012. AWAS has now approached the Union Commerce Ministry for permission to have the machines repaired at GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Ltd. Prior to its collapse, the bulk of Kingfisher's sixty-strong fleet had been sourced from various global aircraft lessors, including AWAS, Aviation Capital Group, BOC Aviation and AerCap.

See classic bureaucracy at work. That explains why airlines find it hard to make it in India. DGCA has already given permission for AWAS to repossess the aircraft from a bankrupt company. Now why do they need permission from the Commerce Ministry to have it repaired, after all an Indian company will be beneficiary of the repairs ?

After it is repaired, there may be atleast couple of more agencies, they may need permission from.

Repairing post being grounded for so long has many complications involved.....records need to be updated on the life of all components, present on the aircraft and last check carried out...else the next higher check will apply, this includes structural checks.....

costs will play a big role

Some time surprised with reporting on aviation . which make it sensational . AWAS had only five aircrafts with KFA A320/KFB, A321/KFN,KFP,KFY,KFZ from where 14 aircraft issue cropped up ? ….. four aircrafts have been repaired by Air Works and flown out … One aircraft was grounded in GMR from Oct 2012 for C check .. Being SEZ area it is deemed export when aircraft moved in hanger and since it was exported by KFA for change of ownership .. custom permission is required … This is normal routine procedure …nothing special required for reporting … It appears that after good dinner from Lessor report was written ….

Not really Kingfisher news, but close.

My mother was in Dhabi for a wedding last week-end and I just caught up with her today.

Apparently the Fat One was there too and cut a very sorry (but still fat and blingy) figure. No one gave him any bhao and he was mostly sitting in a corner by himself and standing on one side by himself and eating by himself. Very different from other past weddings in London and Mauritius a couple of years ago, where he was practically holding court.

Of course, he wasn't totally alone. He did have a very thin, very pretty and very, very, very, very young thing flitting around him all the time. And whilst the PYT appeared to be sophisticated (if rather slutty), when she opened her mouth, Dahly fell out.

Mallya must be getting the jitters, looking at what just happened to the Sahara guy Subroto Roy.

Or he is simply too well connected for anyone to touch him.

I think the 2 cases might be different - Mallya has not yet got on the bad side of the courts (might just be a matter of time, or he had his books cooked really well). Roy was fighting with the SEBI/ courts for ages now, and has constantly cocked a snook at the courts. Full pages ads in all papers supporting Sahara's stand and ridiculing the courts/ SEBI did not help either.

Kingfisher Airlines' female employees write open letter to Vijay Mallya
News
7-Mar-2014 11:12 AM
Kingfisher Airlines' female employees have reportedly written a letter to Vijay Mallya, entitled 'Shame Mallya', in which they criticised their treatment as employees (intoday.in, 06-Mar-2014). The letter reads: "We the women folk of KFA are forced to write this open letter to you today. We have served the organisation for years making it one of the most renowned airline in the world but today as things stand we find even our association with the airlines so very pathetic.....You betrayed us and our faith as you did with MCF employees". The letter also posted nine questions, focused on the lack of salary payment over the past 38 months, as well as the lack of communication to employees and their treatment.

Not the aviation news, but still.
Force India seem to have the worst combination of sponsorship titles: (not Fly) Kingfisher and Sahara..

But to their credit, they have a rising star line-up in Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez, wherein I expect the former to annoy the leaders at times in the races (i.e. - Mercedes, Ferrari and Williams), based on testing pace.
They should be having their best year this year, but I highly doubt that will have an impact on Kingfisher Airlines in the long run, since the money received will be go into further R&D, and push for (being very optimistic here) the championships.

PS - oh yeah, the nose looks wrong. There is something worse and much worse which exist. Shocked

Let's face it, for a team that are just a handful of years old in the Formula One scene, Force India have performed reasonably well overall.

Oh, absolutely.
No second thoughts about that.
From an absolute disaster when they came in 2008, to taking pole position, and finishing just under a second behind the race winner (Kimi Raikkonen, 2009 Belgium) just the year after, to consistent points scorers in 2010/11/12/13. In fact, the 2014 car has led 3 of the 12 test days (25%!) in the recently concluded pre-season tests. I'm really expecting Nico Hulkenberg to finally get that elusive top 3 finish (or better - a race victory) sometime this year.

And another today, VT-KAA, which was stored at BLR.
