Setting up this quick 10 day poll to see what members prefer - keeping the "Airlines & Airliners flown" as is (no registrations), or expanding the scope to include registrations. If we do go down the latter, we might change the thread title to include registrations. If we choose the former, I don't intend to clean up existing posts, but would request future posters to not add the registration details. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

I suggest let the flow continue,
I first posted seeing that quite a few had put registrations, hence I decided to put regs of Indian carriers as being an Indian aviation forum it is something we can all relate,
Especially nice to see other members tell or ping me that we have flown on the same bird
Even making small notes at the side, like the OP himself makes such as Oldest aircraft flown etc... keeps the interest in the thread alive
My humble suggestion is to let things and members post the way it was going when I made my first post in the thread around a year back
Otherwise it is just going to continue to be a one man show {off] |

I fail to see how the fact that someone having the opportunity to fly aboard a Ford Trimotor translates to "a one man show {off]". _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

In a personal capacity - I've voted to have a separate thread for registrations and separate for types. That way those who keep track and want to post the regs can do so, while those who prefer to track only the types can do so as well. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

Find it very interesting of u to partially quote two sentences and combine them ....
To put it in plain English..... I found the part of you flying the ford or any other rare aircraft for that matter interesting ,
But like most threads you seem to see everything and want everyone to bid by your personal agenda....hence you selectively quote me .....enjoy the world as you see it.....
I won't debate any further on this as it will be arguing with a cat in front of a vanity mirror

Would you be more comfortable if I quote the entire spheel ? What you see as being "selectively quoted" is more of being relevantly quoted.
I really wish I knew what "my personal agenda" is - in more ways than one. Please feel free not to contribute to it, should you find it offensive. And thank you for what I take as a fine compliment, intended or otherwise. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

I was honestly not aware of the fact that registrations are not to be included in that thread.
I do not fly very much, so really, just having the aircraft type posted would be really bland.
For example:
737-800
737-800W
737-800W certified 'ETOPS'
737-800W with Sky Interior.
Personally, it looks too boring.
Since the topic of that thread is 'Airliners flown', I don't think we should add registrations.
However, as Karan rightfully mentioned, its no harm knowing that we might have flown the same aircraft, or adding personal stats like 'newest aircraft flown' or '11th time on VT-JBT' (yeah, Dad has flown on VT-JBT 11 times!).
I've voted for a new thread with registrations to be included.
Regards

I am not sure whether I should comment on this section at all, given that I do not have a single contribution (positive, or otherwise) to this. On the one hand, I like the way Rishul (me111993), Karan, Jishnu and others have pointed out that for flyers in India, we target registrations as well. On the other, Deb (747-237) is one member who has contributed immensely to this forum, even if it were for his updates from all around the world are concerned, not to mention the models section, some nice pictures and TRs on some rarest-of-the-rare type. Many of us still miss Krishna (karatecatman) and his updates (some of them insider news, especially where AI is concerned), and to fill his shoes is not an easy job, but Deb has done it beautifully. Whatever be the outcome of this poll, and the final decision of the moderators, I just hope we do not lose Deb on this forum, for any reason, whatsoever. He is too valuable a person for that, and the forum would not be the same without him.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

I don't add anything to that thread ... but here's my 2 paisa
I don't think including registration takes anything away from the 'Airlines-types' flown thread. Let people add extra info, shouldn't mean everyone has to....
Heck I don't keep track or even care about the registration when I fly (ok sometimes maybe, but generally no) ..... I think regs are boring, but if people want to add extra info/background knowledge etc go for it! _________________ eP007 |

Thanks everyone for your inputs - locking this thread as the poll duration is over - will circle internally with the mods and then come back with the final plan. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

Team - re-opening this thread. The mods have decided that a new thread should be created for the details of the registrations flow.
* Existing posts in the "Airlines & Airliners flown" will remain there, but any new posts with registrations should be in their own thread
* I will create the new thread but leave it to members to fill it up! _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
