Emirates to place firm order for 100 jets next year
Staff Report
Dubai: Emirates, which has hinted at buying up to 100 mid-sized aircraft, on Monday confirmed that it will place firm orders next year.

It could be a toss-up between Boeing's B787 and the Airbus A350XWB that will have a capacity of up to 300 passengers.

...
Emirates currently has a fleet of 99 aircraft and more than 100 on firm order valued $30 billion.

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
Emirates is going to be the airline to watch out for. Planes, planes and more planes. And this is not counting the A380 order. Exclamation

Foolish DXB govt has increased visa costs to dxb this means lesser people were there this year for Dubai Shopping Festival...
And the airline wants to order 100 more aircraft...eventually they'll end up operating half of these to India it seems Razz

Emirates is getting carried away with loads of money that they have right now. They can use it for somethingelse.Maybe they should use it to buy smaller aircrafts for shorter routes. This is bcoz of the unpredictable fuel price.By doing this they can avoid spending so much money on fuel for the bigger acfts that they already have and for the A380.
