Aerosvit B738 UR-AAN (38119) was ferried from Kiev to Istanbul/Sabiha Gokcen on 10/1 for transfer to Ukraine International as UR-PSE & returned to Kiev on 11/1. UR-AAO (38120) will also transfer to Ukraine International as UR-PSF. All the B763s are to be returned to the lessor & will be replaced by five former Air India B772s, which will join Ukraine International from March onwards. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

Good for AI!
On a separate note, Aerosvit being semi-bankrupt, UIA is apprently taking over Aerosvit's planes and routes. On some forums there are comments that say that Aerosvit & UIA are working in tandem to deceive Aerosvit's creditors. _________________ Tally Sheet:

Don't hold your breath!
Our neta-babu leeches will try every trick in their book to extract maximum benefits from this deal. The Ukranians will have to face nighmarish bureaucracy of the kind that will make them yearn for the USSR's politburo instead, and eventually they will get their 777s from somewhere else.
Don't we all know it? Haven't we seen it before? _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Astonishing news! Presumably this will be VT-ALA through -ALF? This leaves AI with a small sub-fleet of 3 777-200LRs (if this is indeed a sale). Might it not be worth their while to try and flog the remaining 3 too and get as many of the 27 787s as possible instead? |

Good.
If this actually ends up happening, then the 787s, and the 77Ws and the 747s should be peddled next. And Air India sent to it's lone overdue (dis)Grace.
IC do a good job, so there's no need for them to be punished for the many faults of AI and their thieving employees. _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |

In the context of the Sale and lease back of the 787s, the press article talked about AI not hawking it's 77Ls any more... I guess the press article today was wrong? _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

UIA to add B777-200LRs and Aerosvit B737-800s
14JAN2013
Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kiev Borispol (KBP)) is reportedly planning to add five ex-Air India (AI, Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International (BOM)) B777-200(LR)s to its fleet to be able to take over the long-haul routes of Aerosvit Airlines (VV, Kiev Borispol (KBP)) from the end of March onwards. Aerosvit has a fleet of eight B767-300ERs including one aircraft operated by its sister carrier Dniproavia (Z6, Dnepropetrovsk (DNK)) but currently only operates two of the aircraft. Ukraine International has also taken over one of Aerosvit's B737-800 UR-PSE (MSN 38119) and plans to add a second aircraft shortly (MSN 38120). |

Attention of Bidders is drawn to the following:
This is an open Tender and would remain open till at least two offers
are received. After this the tender would remain open for further 7 days
and Notice of this would be given on our website. Subsequent to this
Notice period, tender would be deemed as closed based on offers
received by Air India, bidders are requested to submit their bids at the
earliest." |
Air India now plans to close the tender for sale of the 5 x 77Ls on 6th Feb 2013 at 1600 hrs. Perhaps an indication that this saga is finally coming to an end. |
