Hello, everyone.
This is my first ever post on airlinersindia.
I'm currently making trip reports on my travels on youtube and while recently flying to Singapore from Kochi, I was caught for recording. The actual confrontation is included in my trip report here:

Skip to 2:01 for the actual confrontation.
I know that it is legal to film/photograph in civil airports in India. Yet, I am caught here. Am I obliged to listen to the security officer or is it okay to film? Are'n't jet bridges part of the airport?
Thanks in advance |

The Jet bridge is on the apron & can be interpreted as a violation as apron photography is banned....A stupid rule .....wonder when it will be lifted.
Currently as a scheduled pax you can film from within the aircraft of inside & outside of the aircraft or in the terminal building except at defence aerodromes in the country.
BTW great video TR though _________________ Think of the Brighter side !!! |

People photograph all over varios airports in the country & on the tarmac too.....its just that some do it delibritly & others unknowingly.....Most times the CISF is not observing it.
As long as a rule is in place it needs to be respected, although it makes no sense........But until its revised....... _________________ Think of the Brighter side !!! |

Thanks for replying guys! But, I'm not quite sure that this guard noticed me filming as I had my camera LCD off and held the camera at hip level.
I think he could have said it just as a general notion.
Another question I had was, if a flight attendant asks me to stop filming in the airplane for takeoff, will showing the DGCA document be of any use?
Thanks in advance |

So, the FAA regulation for electronic devices to be switched off is overruled by the DGCA rule? Nice. But, only for domestic flights right?
Thanks |
