I am not able to access my profile. I get this display when I try to access my profle:
Your IP is black listed
To register, please contact admin of the fourm with your IP 141.0.8.156
Have I violated any of the terms and conditions?

http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/141.0.8.156 - this IP corresponds to Opera Mini servers. Might be blacklisted for some other reason, you've not violated any T&Cs and have not been blacklisted. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

I know I have been blocked recently and at least one other member has been as well. So for now, we've reset all the banned IP addresses, and hopefully this problem won't occur again for a while. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

folks!
just got a reply from service provider. They say they have no way to allow blacklisted ISPs. The ISPs are blacklisted by following website,
http://www.projecthoneypot.org/board/read.php?f=4&i=591&t=591
They recommend getting in touch with your respective service provider for clean ISP.
A bit of inconvenience, but clarifies the situation.
thanks

It seems like BSNL/ MTNL IPs are largely blacklisted, probably due to rampant spamming happening from these IPs.
http://www.projecthoneypot.org/white_list.php - this will allow you to whitelist your current IP. This does not let you post immediately, but will probably help you the next time you get assigned the same IP by the ISP. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

BSNL has assigned me 22 IP addresses in the last month (which I know of), of which 12 were blacklisted.
Whitelisting each IP address is nice for whoever has it next, but getting the same IP address twice is unlikely. _________________ Editor of AeroBlogger |

I agree completely, but just pointing out the only option we have at the moment. This is not a system I'm comfortable with either, but our hosting provider has indicated they subscribe to feeds from the honey pot site, and go by the ratings per IP from that site. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

suggested solution compiled by Nimish
Quote: | 1. Our hosting provider uses the blacklist published by Project Honey Pot. This uses spam emails sent from an IP as a measure. If you're assigned a dynamic IP by the ISP, it's possible that the IP was previously sending spam messages (very easy if it's virus infected), and hence on the black list.
2. You can register on Project Honey Pot and request your current IP be whitelisted via this form: http://www.projecthoneypot.org/white_list.php. This does not ease the immediate inability to post, but gives us something constructive to do, and might help in the future if that IP is reassigned.
3. Try and reset your internet connection and get a new IP address. Fingers crossed, that one might work out fine. |

An update on this - the white listing from http://www.projecthoneypot.org/white_list.php works well - but takes a couple of hours to take effect. I've had my WL request take effect (can post on the forum from the same IP) in an hour at times, and at times it takes 3-4 hours. But so far its always worked and I was able to post from the same IP in a couple of hours. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
