It was indeed - good to see the access to a military base & aircraft, and that too Centcom (command central for the Afghan War). More pics to follow as I sort them out.

This would be one of the most incredible picture-reports on this forum. A few descriptions in addition to these high-res pictures - seeing these lovely planes through your eyes, from so-up-and-close (something which most of us would not be able to manage easily) - would make it an amazing trip report. Can we get greedier, and request you to make it a complete trip report, if you have the time? Thanks, anyway - I have enjoyed logging in everyday, and checking for updates on this thread.

Thanks Sumantra - you are waaay too kind & generous with your words of praise ! Glad to know you enjoyed the pics - makes it worthwhile when others can enjoy them too. Will do my best to come up with a TR of some sorts.

Awesome set, 747-237! I have spotted the C-17 from very close quarters, seen documentaries of the C-5 and the B-52 time and again. BUT, nothing comes close to sharing the Tarmac and looking high up above!
Truly love the way USAF, and US Defence Forces in general, connect to the general public, and let a million dreams take to the skies. Aint this the way to attract the cream-de-la-cream in, with added passion! One day.. |
