India's N-capable Agni III's launch a success
India on Thursday succesfully test fired its nuclear capable intermediate range ballistic missile Agni-III from the Interim Test Range at the Wheeler's Island in the Bay of Bengal off the Orissa coast, defence sources said.
The indigenously developed surface-to-surface missile, blasted off at 10.52 am from a fixed platform with the help of an auto launcher in the launch complex-4 of the ITR, located about 72 km from Balasore, defence sources added.

3000 km is the effective range of this missile. This brings quite some area within our reach! |

My question is when will it be operational?? It's almost 12 years behind schedule and has cost about 400 crores more that what it is supposed to.
Nice missile though.
Cheers

Agreed. But still major powers like US and Russia didn't take as much time as our DRDO is taking. My whole point is with such a long time to deliver a product, the technology may already have changed and the missile would have become outdated. DRDO must tighten their screws up.
Cheers

Does someone gets the Week Magzine at home. If he or she does the last week issue carries a nice article as to why DRDO is made a black sheep and talks alot of the projects in which DRDO already invests and then in between the specification changes leading to whole project getting delayed or hived off... So just blaming on DRDO wont be wise its a variety of factors involved _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |
