He is simply another AI hack. You heard me. A hack. So what if he knows every aircraft that AI has flown? Big deal. That's like bragging that you have eaten at every McDonald's in your city.

I remember the days back in 2004-5. This goon and his comrades on Anet like N1120A, ANC Flyer and some Continental employee from Cleveland (forget his name) would all pitch in and joust me on those forums. 3 against 1 was totally unfair....to those fools.

Every sane person laughed his butt off when Mendis described his anguish that AI had painted a 744 in colors he didn't like...."as the plane turned over Marine drive, the colors caused me to shriek and cry". LOL.

Furthermore, he ran that unfunny, sophomoric site called AirWhiners, which was designed to be a parody site to Anet. It turned into a collection of wet behind the ears puerile misfits wearing their pajamas in the basement eating pizza. Reading their rants was priceless, to say the least.
Now the site is in permanent hibernation.

Finally, politically speaking, he was just the same old hard leftist that many of you are on these and other aviation boards, in addition to being a Congress lover and apologist. He was also a north indian supremacist to boot.

Wherever he is, his life just went downhill after Lundgren banned him from Anet and his 100 RR went down the toilet. Great work in Africa? Ha!

You had me going until I read the North Indian supremacist part. In case you missed it, I'm not exactly from the North myself... Laughing

Contrary to popular perception, Johan and myself actually had a decent working relationship. The same held with Paulo Emanuele until his untimely demise. Sadly, this could not be said about some of the mods there, but I'll be the first to admit that I often enjoyed antagonising them! Twisted Evil

Finally, I'll simply say that judging somebody by excesses of youthful exuberance isn't exactly an accurate way of predicting their professional activities almost a decade later.

PS. Hello to all old friends here. Thanks for the kind words and for defending me in absentia!

Thanks for the welcome. Active participation is unlikely alas. Maybe a post here or there. I'm far detached from Indian aviation nowadays so not much to contribute and much of what I do find out isn't intended to be shared anyway.

As for Trip Reports, I barely manage to come up with one every year or two nowadays. Hardly the prolific writer of my youth, but then again I'd like to think that the quality has improved too! The stories worth telling have definitely gotten more interesting.

Check out http://www.seanmendis.com/writings.htm for links to the best ones (IMHO) of the last few years.

Sean, incredibly wonderful trip reports - please do take some time off to write them, and post the links to us.
Cheers, Sumantra.
