Hi guys, below is the link to my KU flight from LHR to JFK. Considering all the negative comments you hear these days, could this possibly change your mind?

You got lucky, very lucky. Wink

There is a reason why they are the worst carrier in the Gulf. Perhaps if you had flown the A340-300, you would have known.

Thanks nevertheless for posting the report, looking forward to the next one.

Varun

I find that many airlines seem to have very different standards for their long haul routes and their medium and short haul routes. It has occurred on almost every airline in every region based on what I have read and my own personal experiences, such as DL, AI, EK, AF, and countless others.

In my opinion, what separates the best airlines from all the others is standardization of services and quality across al types of routes.

I agree with this, case in point being KU themselves for whom KWI-JFK and KWI-LHR-JFK are their two flagship routes and their 772s their flagship aircraft.

However I think EK is pretty consistent in that regard. You have to give them that.

Definitely those two routes are there flagship however I would rather see them buying new aircrafts with better interiors. Don't know how long that will take being a government run airline.

EK are consistent but you can't put them in the same group as KU Varun. You have to admit that they are miles apart in all areas so you would expect them to be better.

They are being privatized and an aircraft order is likely by Jan 2011. Just 10 years too late eh? Smile

Definitely 10 years too late. But will be good to see the new airline whenever it happens. One can always hope sooner rather than later.

Nice report with good pictures.

I call these airlines hidden gems sometimes you can fly dirt cheap on business class on these fifth freedom airlines if one does their research well. Besides a business class service is typically not that bad no matter how bad the airline might be.
