the same reason why winglets are used on standard Boeing 747-400s and not on the 747LCF

every type is different... savings on one body structure and type will not necessarily mean savings on another. behavioural characteristics along with other dynamics of the type will change resulting in handling and performance differences.

Ok thanks...but any reasons as to why normal winglets are used on the 738s, 330s etc and not these Spiroid Winglets

thats what i meant when i explained above.. see its the same reason Boeing has their own design of winglets for the 737NGs and a retrofit for the older 737s... while Airbus has different kind of winglets for their A330s...

it all depends on the model for which the winglets are specially designed for..

the 737s designs will have benefits for the 737per se and its structure but will not have the same effect on the A330... similarly the spiroid design may suit that particular type of jet or class of aircraft.. but may not be effective on the larger jets or other aircraft types..

Interesting post Mel,
So spiroid winglets cut induced drag by half, wow. That’s impressive if it’s accurate
Might make the final moments of landing interesting
