Well before that DEL - KWI needs an upgrade to A332 but next on the anvil should be African and European routes for the A332

This is excellent news. I always felt very uncomfortable flying in a small 737 across an ocean.

Aside from the fact that the B737 or A320 may be tossed around quite a bit as compared to a heavy like A330/B777, I dont really see any difference , especially in Y-class.

And then again, the turbulence over Bay of Bengal (refering to the SIN route) is bad enough anyways! So even B747s or A380 could be bouncing up and down.

.

9Ws 330s have a standard Y product with 32 inch pitch and AVOD PTVs, as for the 73Hs it depends upon your fortune that day whether you get an upgraded one or not.

I just tried booking 9W to Singapore for 15th Jan'08. The equipment is still shown as B737. Also, on Jet AIrways website, it only says that DEL-SIN-DEL is being upgraded to A332. Could anyone please clarify?

I have just done BOM-SIN-BOM on 9w B737 and have not liked it one bit. So if the equipment is not gonna change, there's no way i am gonna fly 9w just for the freq flier miles!

I think DEL-BKK badly needs a A332 TG seems to be making hell lot of money inspite of booking 2 months adv no cheaper seats available. I guess we badly neeed double daily on TG, MH and SQ in DEL and triple daily around 2010

Congrats. Singapore is still a great city, and I hope that like at LHR-3 in the evenings, there is something like an "India board" at departures. Please appreciate, when I started travelling, there would be one little "Bombay" tucked away on the board amidst everything else.

However, frank opinion and views invited - for flights like this (4-8 hours . . .) would you rather have flat bed contraptions OR huge sofa seats?

I ges it has started.MH just increased their frequencies to DEL.TG and SQ will be doing the same shortly.i guess 9W wants upgrade the DEL-BKK but i guess the CCU-BKK sector doesnt warrant it so may be they want CCU-BKKto settle down as well.

Thanks Nalini123 and Prajay for your inputs. I need to question my travel agent also because he too told me it is still showing B737 in his booking systems!

Besides, can you pals guide me how to look up which equipment is being used on the Jet Airways website? i dont recollect they ever showing you that while booking. Thanks.

Yeah they dnt show it but trust us at ai.net ! Very Happy
All flights to SIN are A332's

Websites don't show the A/c type but at the time of the booking if you see first class fares quoted as well then it is a B77W for sure

CCU-BKK on 9W has been going full for the past one month.I;m sure they can do with a A330 now.

IMO you better go for Jet Airways , AVOD in IFE is 100% guaranteed. In case of SQ some ac's are not AVOD equipped.

But both are good , IMO the one giving you a lower fare should be your option. If your travelling J without a second thought go on jet airways.

.

All of SQs 773A and 773ERs are AVOD equipped.

But go for 9W only since it is 6K cheaper

Karan, traveled SQ on 27th june this year and their B773A aircraft on that route was not AVOD equipped. But maybe as of now , they might have refurbished them.

However even on non AVOD IFE's there are 2 movies that are shown , i think enough for a 5 hour flight. Smile
