Sonia Gandhi’s flight had a near brush with Virgin plane
www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1121921
NEW DELHI: An Indian Air Force plane carrying Sonia Gandhi and other VIPs on board came dangerously close to a Virgin Atlantic aircraft on September 10, when the Congress president and UPA chairperson was on her way to Kashmir. The Virgin flight from London was on its way to Delhi.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched a high-level probe to track down possible communication lapses that may have led to a dangerous situation when Gandhi, home minister Shivraj Patil and others were airborne.
A few heads may roll. |

Once again it just goes to show the bubble that netas, babus and the press live in.
They're more concerned with the fact that Sonia's plane had a near miss with a VS 346 than the fact that a crashed VS 346 would have resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives. How many were aboard Sonia's plane? 8, maybe 10? In contrast, even if the VS 346 was only half full, there would have been about 160 pax and crew aboard. |

Amazing how the Media reacts....
Both Aircraft have TCAS enabled. If the VIP Aircraft was not RVSM compliant on that flight. They would not have filed for RVSM.Something is missing.

Air India may be scoring points and get a boost.
As the UPA chairperson leaves for New York to address the UN, news is that she is booked on both Air India's Mumbai-New York 777LR and
Air India's 747-400 Delhi-London-New York.
Alternate booking on British Airways also. |
