Covid travel restrictions.

All visas are cancelled till April 15 except diplomatic and UN. This includes OCI also, however OCI holders can get a special visa/permission from the nearest Indian consulate or embassy provided they can show a compelling need to travel to India.

AI has cancelled almost all flights to Europe, however flights to LHR and UK are still running as usual. This is puzzling because now UK is more than 600 cases nearly the same as Spain.

So what does this mean for flights? Are any international airlines stopping flights. I have a friend on the DL BOM-JFK flight on Sat or Sun. Wonder what will happen

I think only tourist visas and e-visas will be affected. It is possibly driven by the fact that two of the coronavirus cases detected in Rajasthan turned out to be Italian tourists who were holidaying there.

OCI is not a visa. It is a dual-nationality card, but without many of the privileges at the Indian end. I think they won't prevent OCI card holders from entering India, provided they haven't travelled through any of the badly affected areas of the world.

GoI which originally was going to restart "regular" air travel (not VBM) is now reconsidering that. It may be delayed beyond Dec 15 2021. Some airlines like TK, Swiss, Finnair which are unable to fly now, will have to wait longer.
