The chaos caused by Jet Airways' collapse and the slowing of the Indian economy is reflected in traffic numbers at BOM and DEL, the two largest Indian airports.
BOM is down by 5.7% from 49.9 to 47.05 million.
DEL is affected slightly less, down by 2% from 69.9 to 68.5 million.
Growth at BOM in 2018 over that in 2017 was 5.7%; growth at DEL was 10.1% over that time period.
So, this reflects an approximate 12% swing in the negative direction for BOM and DEL over the prior year in terms of growth rates.
Numbers look like they were recovering in the last quarter over the dismal numbers of the first half of the year, but any further shocks to the economy may change this trend. |
