Last while flying from PNQ to BLR, saw this abt 30-40 mins into the flight. Is it an airfield under construction?

This did not seem to have a paved runway and was kinda in the middle of nowhere.
Kolhapur/Solapur/belgaum/Hubli all have asphalt runways right?

It could be either Bagalkot, Chitradurga or the 'private' airport at Koppal.

I don't think a PNQ-BLR flight would go over Bellary or Solapur. They are more to the east.

It's probably the stalled Shimoga airport going by Google Earth. But I could be wrong because Shimoga isn't on the direct PNQ-BLR flightpath.

What is the ATS routing on PNQ BLR???

MAA DEL I know by heart as the old Sahara (the original ones) commanders used to give a running commentary almost every time - MAA-HYD-NAG - BHO-AGR-DEL .

Bellary has two airports - The old one (Tata Airways Fame ) and the one at Tornagallu which is the one near Jindal Steels. DN flights operated from the latter.

Most of us know the Tornagallu airport better as `Vidyanagar', which is closer to Hampi than the current gateway, Hubli: the Chu Ladni airport at Hubli-Dharwad.
Cheers, Sumantra.

Currently TruJet operates HYD-Vidyanagar/Bellary under the UDAN scheme.
