I recently made my first 787 Dreamliner flight. With this, I've accomplished my goal of flying aboard every member of Boeing's 7 Series family of aircraft.
Can finally claim to have flown aboard all these, now.
Here are the Boeing 7 Series Family of aircraft, airline and livery, as the first time I flew aboard each of them.
B 707 ✔
B 717 ✔
B 727 ✔
B 737 ✔
B 747 ✔
B 757 ✔
B 767 ✔
B 777 ✔
B 787 ✔
Earned my Wings for flying aboard every member of the Boeing 7 Series Family.... though sadly Boeing never did make a 707 wing.

This is indeed some achievement, 747-237!
It does surprise me a bit that for someone who travels such a lot, the Dream)liner eluded you for so long! I am also glad that you managed to close the loop on the seven series with the airline you started off with, Air India. A bit off-topic, but I see a British Airways Super VC-10 in the 747-237 photo you have posted. I am guessing that the picture was clicked at Heathrow. Can you tell us more about this one?
Thanks, Sumantra. |

Thanks, Sumantra.
Yes, the 787 did prove to be elusive. For a while there were pretty much no routes (that served my needs) from the U.S., that the Dreamliner operated on. As you mentioned, I'm glad to have completed the 7 series family with Air India....4 out of 9 for AI isn't too bad, right 😄 ?
As for the picture of the 747–237, I honestly just picked it out of Flickr, because it was one that showed the three windowed 747-237 before upper deck conversion, as that's what I'd flown on my first 747 flight. It might very well have been clicked at London Heathrow, arguably one of the most popular 747–237 destinations at that time. That would explain the British Airways super VC – 10 in the picture. _________________ 11000 posts (and counting) on Airliners-India.

Indeed However, it must have been a bit disappointing for you as well, given that it could have been 7 out of 9: well in line wit the term "Seven Series"
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Have you flown on the Boeing 720?
Jokes apart, Hearty congratulations! That is quite an achievement. _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

Aha !! I knew that question was coming - and I do have an answer
No, I have not flown aboard the 720, but...and this is true....the 720 is not considered to be a distinct member of the "Boeing 7 Series Family".
The first photo above, was from Randy's Blog @ Boeing several years ago. And again, on the 100th anniversary last year, they only referred to the 707 through 787 as the "Boeing 7 Series Family".
I've often wondered why the 720 is the red-headed step child of the family, but perhaps she is considered by the company to be a variant of the 707 (?)
