It was difficult to get TW to register and post so posting on her behalf. . please let me know if I need to move this to some another section.
IndiGo Ninjas
Recently I, along with my parents, had the pleasure of travelling by IndiGo from Mumbai (BOM) to Coimbatore (CJB) on its flight 6E 293. The flight was at 12 noon so we decided to take an early morning cab from Pune and reach airport by 9 so as to avoid Mumbai traffic. We left from Pune at 5.45AM and reached Mumbai well ahead of time at around 9AM. While alighting from the cab, I told my parents “good we reached early, now we can check in aaraamse!”
How wrong was I!! I should have known that when one flies IndiGo, AARAMSE isn’t an option! I have flown quite often and I do not get stressed by airport formalities unlike my parents who, even after travelling by air on number of occasions, still get a little jittery about air travel. Just for records, let me tell you that my husband is an aviation geek and loves airports, aircraft, rotations, and even those display screens at airport more than he loves this writer. So when I travel with him, I am the happiest as he is completely engrossed in doing his own things, and completing air travel formalities with unmatched enthusiasm.
This time, the husband did not accompany me and so I decided to use whatever little information I had about aviation and throw some jargon at the airport staff.
So, even before passing through the entrance, I had memorized my web check-in details and was practicing the seat numbers in my head “29 Albha Bravo Charlie”. I loved the sound of it in my head and I was sure to impress my parents and the staff as no one expects a lady to be as familiar with this jargon. Little did I know that all of this was just a dream and was soon to vaporize in all-encompassing heat of IndiGo efficiency. _________________ www.networkthoughts.com |

A TR from Mrs. Khabri_Lal!
Great to read this! And a fascinating account of the story, at that. I haven't really noticed the quick fire questions being asked yet, but that's perhaps as Mrs. Joshi said - us aviation geeks perhaps relish all of that!
The statement at the end:
Quote: | it is a firsthand account of an IndiGo fan who doesn’t like IndiGo |
Very relatable. Reminds me of the times of my minor JetRants!
And I love the hilarious bits too!
Do convey a huge congratulations to her on writing her first ever TR - more to come I hope?!
Regards

Very well written, Mrs. Joshi and welcome to this forum!

I thought Indigo is the most punctual airline in India!
Thanks again! _________________ Tally Sheet:

My estimate is that this is Mrs. Joshi's fourth trip report on this forum: from memory, she has contributed to the Leh trip, the Tadoba tiger-spotting one, the Italy one, and this one is from her own pen/keyboard.
Ameya Sir, thank you for getting Mrs. Joshi to write on this forum. After the Basus Sr and Jr, this is perhaps the only family to contribute to TRs on the forum. This naturally leads to comparisons, and disappointments: it has been about three months, and I still haven't been able to get The Wife to pen down all her memories on her recent trip to the UK and mainland Europe. Hope springs eternal, though memories do not, unfortunately.
The Joshis complement each other beautifully, in terms of the writing style.
We see what is now the characteristic Joshi brand of humour, in this TR as well.
Noticing little things all around, and pulling each other's legs: classic.
Right from the sorrows and joys of having an avgeek hubby, to the admiration-tinged-with exasperation feeling at Indigo's efficiency (describing each highlight of the well-rehearsed procedures, not to forget pulling Ameya's leg on the anivArya/mahatvapUrNa announcements), the `OCD', with two delicious PS and PPSs...a fantastic TR, thank you!
And yes, from what one has heard, the airline chose the code 6E to exactly pun on the term `sexy'.
Cheers, Sumantra. |

What a great Ninja story Mrs. Joshi and good to get a perspective on aviation from a non-aviation person.
I think “sexy (6E)” should be proud reading this that they have great fan base across the country, but hoping that they understand that not all travellers are shaolin masters either.
Hope we get to read more snippets from you.
