Finally!
I knew they would do something similar!
Excellent idea to base the aircraft at LKO.
So with this latest round of expansion, 9W' Gulf Network for W14 stands at (counting standalones): -
KWI - 21 times a week (14 BOM, 7 MAA (via AUH))
DMM - 42 times a week (7 DEL/BOM/HYD (via AUH)/COK/CCJ/TRV)
RUH - 7 times a week (7 BOM)
JED - 7 times a week (7 BOM)
BAH - 7 times a week (7 BOM)
DOH - 42 times a week (14 BOM, 7 DEL/COK/CCJ/TRV)
AUH - 63 times a week (14 BOM, 7 DEL/BLR/COK/AMD/GOI/LKO)
DXB - 63 times a week (35 BOM, 14 DEL, 7 COK/IXE)
SHJ - 7 times a week (7 COK)
MCT - 21 times a week (7 BOM/COK/TRV)
Total frequencies: - 273 times a week. _________________ |

So only PNQ-AUH-PNQ left. Apart from the SIN flight - that would complete the 12 for W14.
Interesting to see if for PNQ they go with timings that match the Goa flight or more like the rest of the cities. My guess is more likely the Goa timings (given the lack of slots at PNQ). It would be interesting to see how they do the domestic runs for these aircraft (LKO back to DEL i guess and AMD to BOM) given that neither AMD nor LKO is a base station for 9W (AMD has 1 9W air craft parked overnight right now)
They are also running out of 5XX flight numbers..only 10 pairs left ! |

Excellent to see these new AUH routes from 9W - we need more and more such routes, and provide the "seamless connectivity" that 9W has been harping on about. Plus 9W is going to get 2-3 77Ws back from TK - time for 9W to start putting those on use via AUH - perhaps to Africa/ Europe to start with and then onwards to the US once cat1 is regained. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

Is it due to slot restrictions at GOI that the timings dont match the rest of their bank? |

I don't know what you're talking about. These flights fit perfectly with EY's bank of Indian Sub-Continent/Asian/Oz flights. So, well fed from GCC/EU/Americas/Levant/Africa. _________________ |

All flight from India leave late evening reaching AUH in the night between 2200 and 2330 hrs. On the return all the flights leave around 1000 and reach India late afternoon.
Now have a look at the timings of GOI-AUH-GOI. See the difference? |

I understand that. But that was done to maximise the rotation of the 737.
See, even if we swapped the timings to departing evening from GOI, and landing into afternoon hours, it would still be okay, because it is outside the curfew. _________________ |

But why only for GOI. It does not connect with the DMM and KWI flighta of 9W. |

Once EY places their code on the flights, DMM and KWI will be connected.
As I see it, Jet doesn't think this is a priority. If they did the same timings as LKO/AMD, they would have to use another 737. They would have to base another aircraft at AUH for 10 hours.
And GOI, isn't going to be alone. Rumours of AUH-PNQ joining the same bank are swirling around _________________ |

In addition to what abhijeeth says, they sell these connections very convinently via BOM

Glad now that between 9W and LH - provides a daily international option out of PNQ for onwards connections...LH was consistently about $3-400 more round trip to PNQ vs. BOM (from US). Hopefully this will put some downward pressure on LH fares PNQ is just soooooo much more convenient than a trek to and from BOM.... |

I completely here you, it's such a joy to travel out of Pune directly. |

LH provides connections to LAX and SFO (some using UA JV) and EY to LAX if you are taking flights out of PNQ. Most other west coast destinations will need an extra stop anyway... |

This is what I was talking about on the Whatsapp group yesterday
Slot issues at Pune for Jet
PUNE:
Pune airport director Manoj K Gangal told TOI that the airline officials had a meeting with the Airports Authority of India authorities here on Tuesday. "They wanted the slots which are currently not available with us. We have suggested an alternative plan and the airline officials will come back to us with their new proposal," said Gangal.
"Parking space for the aircraft is not available for the slots they (airline) sought. Airline officials even suggested that their aircraft can wait in the parallel taxi track on arrival from Abu Dhabi, but that is not feasible," said Gangal. _________________ www.networkthoughts.com |

^^ Luckily did not ask for a parachute drop facility . Or a "Terminal on wheels" - that comes upto the aircraft (on the taxiway), discharges and refills it, and then sends it on it's way _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

Now made daily.
Bookings for the other 3 weekly have been opened.
No movement from EY's side yet. _________________ |
