Rahi Air, a start-up regional Indian carrier, reportedly plans to launch services in Jun-2012 with the carrier currently in talks with investors to raise INR1 billion (USD19 million) in funding (Economic Times, 26-Apr-2012). The launch of the carrier will coincide with the opening of a new airport in Gulbarga, northern Karnataka, with the carrier's first services to operate from the airport to Hyderabad and Bangalore with a twice daily, six times per week frequency.
