Hey guys I'm wondering why there aren't any direct flights from London to Kolkata? I used to travel with BA or AI direct but then they gradually disappeared and now a few airlines have even stopped their 1 stop flights. I know that the loads on the BA flight used to be low in Economy but near enough 80% full in Club. They also stopped their DAC flight due to the sme reason so why not combine both stops in one flight, i.e. LHR-CCU-DAC-LHR? _________________ Now why I can't fly every day for the rest of my life? |

The yields were abysmal for BA and for AI it was a political ploy to please the left parties, nothing else ( Did you know the Karats reside in London for 6 months in a year?)
But speaking of BA specifically they must have found better routes than LHR - DAC/CCU.
LH, AI, 9W, EK are more then enough to serve the international passengers who are west bound. PLus do not forget EK is 18 weekly B777s to DAC; and 12 weekly A332s to CCU, that poses a huge competition. |

Please include seven weekly flights by Quatar Airlines recently introduced. Emirates is doing a commendable job for eastern India. I wish them good luck. Perhaps with BA business model Kolkata is out of reach for ever. _________________ Sabya99 |
