Bala, thanks for yet another very nice report.
Some miscellaneous jottings:
- I really liked the pictures where we see your reflection: this brings a nice touch to the picture. The first was in the seat's IFE unit, the second in the hotel.
- The missing touchscreen control part of it is surprising. Even Air India has these on its PTVs, both in the Thales i4000 and i4500 on the 777s, as well as the non-AVOD offerings on its new 321-320-319 series.
- This is perhaps the first Whalejet trip report on this forum - for those of us who are not on A.net even in a read-only mode, this was nice. I also appreciate your reporting the `unique' parts of the Whalejet experience. The separate boarding, the stairs, and the side storage bin (but doesn't it put the window a bit away from you - bad for taking pictures?), and the under-IFE unit light.
As usual, your numerous photographs made the report so vivid that it almost made the reader go through the trip himself/herself.
I also appreciate the fact that a frequent flyer like you almost always takes time off, to share such nice reports with us.
Thanks, Sumantra. |

Nice report, thanks for sharing. I especially liked that you didn't compromise on food, neither at the airport nor on the plane!

Trust me, nice as it is for you and me, the touchscreen can be a monumental annoyance when the screens are in the back of the seat.
Imagine you've finished your meal, and you're now reclined and enjoying a movie, nice after-dinner drink in hand. Or if you're trying to sleep. Next thing you know, you get poked in the back because the person seated behind you is messing about with the IFE. Then imagine there's a kid (little or grown-up) playing a game.
Honestly, touchscreens are best left to the pop-up variety of PTVs. _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |
