Hi folks,
For many days, having read so many wonderful TRs from other members, I thought of giving it a try this time myself.So heres my 1st TR on my recent flight from DEL-BLR on SG 209, dated March 5,2011. Smile

Introduction:

The origin of the trip started from BLR.I travelled to DEL in Rajdhani express.I thought of travelling by flight but then I doubted whether I'll get the best fare as the trip was decided in the last minute.So the train left BLR on time.For most part of the journey,I was entertained by my co-passenger with his laptop, where we watched movies through out.But there was a 4 hour delay on the day I arrived DEL.I was wondering whether I should have taken the flight instead.

This trip was supposed to be for 2 weeks but it was cut short as the work got over faster than I thought.So on Friday afternoon, I surfed through the net for booking a flight to BLR.I booked the ticket on Spicejet for Saturday through clear trip.com as they had the best fare compared to 6E,9W,AI,G8 or IT.

So Saturday came, and I reached the airport at 15:45 pm.Before arriving at the airport, I went to Nehru place for my brothers work and had lunch there.At the airport ,once when I got out of the car,I saw China Airlines A330 taxing to fly back to TPE. I wanted to take the snap but then there was CISF officer nearby.I did'nt want to take risk and ruin my journey.

At 15:50 pm:

I entered the Terminal 1D and went to the Check-In counter and got the boarding pass.There was a delay of the flight by 30 mins due to the late arrival of the incoming flight.So the delayed departure timing was 17:25pm.As I got lot of time, I decided to tour the Terminal and see what is there.

Most of the Indian airports showcase the rich Indian culture and must visit places in India like in this case.

There was Hundai i-10 car on display which is the official car partner for the on going WC -2011.

At 16:30 pm

I did the security check .There was still some more time to wander around the terminal as the boarding time was at 17:10pm.

I saw a lot of activities outside as there were many departures and arrivals taking place.Compared to the old terminal 2 years ago, this new terminal 1D,constructed by GMR has a great viewing of aircrafts.

Then an AI B744 arrived.

At 17:00 pm:

I went to Gate 14 from where our flight was depart.As I waited anxiously to hear the boarding call, there was a further delay of 20 mins. Sad

At 17:35 pm:

Much to my relief, we finally boarded in to the acft.Before I entered the acft, I took some pics on ground.There was an IC acft (old livery) parked in the terminal.VT-EPG

While I got tempted to click some more snaps,the airline staff told me not to take any more snaps.So I boarded in the acft and searched for my seat which was 5D. I wanted the window seat though.I requested my co-passenger to allot his window seat to me.But the elderly person refused to do that.

Anyways I was at luck as the first row seats were empty.So I sat down in the A1 -window seat.

At 18:00 pm:

We finally departed.In Terminal 3 there were lots of AIs along with 1 PIA and 1 Jet airways.I could'nt see were the B744 that had just landed was parked.

At 18:10 pm :

We took off and the acft banked left over Dwaraka and Gurgeon as we started to ascend gradually.

At 18:45 pm:

We were cruising along at 750kms per hr at 30,000ft.During the flight, the pilot kept the pax well informed about the flight duration,at what altitude were we flying and about the weather outside.It was good.

At 19:15 pm :

The cabin crew arrived with variety of dishes ranging from sandwish to kathi rolls to biryani and deserts.The price range was between Rs.20 -Rs.150.It sounded good.But then I decide to skip all that and order tea as I already had heavy lunch.So one of them served me with Tea and 2 cookies for Rs.20.It tasted good.

I took a glance of their inflight magazine.Apart from that I was reading a novel.Time ticked of very fast and we were flying over the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secundrabad.Time ticked of very fast and at around 8:15 pm, we began to descend into BLR.

At 20:30 pm

SG 209 finally touched down at BIAL and I took all my luggage and headed home in Vayu Vajra.I did'nt want to take the cab because most of them were priced at Rs.1000. Shocked

Summary:

During the course of the flight, the Cabin crew made an announcement that the airline had won many award and voted as the best LCC in India.

Though the flight got delayed,still the course of journey was satisfactory .

And,overall the service was good.

Thereby,I conclude my 1st TR.Hope you guys liked it.Sorry for the trouble caused in displaying the pics.I tried my best but am unable to upload the pics taken during the trip.Hope to get it right the next time.

Nice pictures, Sreenivas! It was nice to see views of Terminal 1-D after a long time. This is a very nicely constructed place - well-lighted, airy, adequate waiting space, powerports, TVs, and of course, nice views of the tarmac and main runway activity. Keep it coming!
