T3 definitely looks deserted. Even while waiting for my CO DEL-EWR flight to board it seemed like the flight would be empty based on how many were in the boarding area. Of course in the end it turned out the flight was full. Turns out the size of the building makes it feel like no one is there. |

wonderful TR justbala!
The meal on 9W J looks alsolutely delicious, can't say that for the ones onboard LH though
A couple of questions here,
you've written your first preference was 9W but all sectors were booked, what was that option? Was it BLR-BOM-LHR-IAD-MIA?
The second one is, are you sure that the aircraft was VT-JGW? Because, JGW is one of the few planes in 9W's fleet with a more premium config, > 24/126, the newer ones are > 16/148 and definately has IFE with full AVOD!

Nice report; thanks for sharing.
Whilst things seem to be on a gradual upswing, your experience goes to show that a simply constructing a massive new building (no matter how swanky or world class) does not make a hub.
Still, AI seem to have started doing something right, by picking DEL as their primary hub and gateway. Putting the whole thing into practice and being successful at it remains to be seen. _________________ four years free of jetya punti! |

Bala, lovely trip report - thank you very much! the minute details on the BOM-DEL leg, and the T3 details, along with the witty quips made my day.
Cheers, Sumantra/ |

Great report Bala - thanks for posting. I had hoped domestic/ intl transfers at T3 would be a breeze, but trust our airports and authorities to screw something as basic as this up . I do hope it improves with time, and at least for airlines like AI where they have a true hub at T3 (in this case, the problems might have possibly been due to 9W connecting to LH - without too much of synergy there?). _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
