Thanks!

The 9W flight was at about 98%

On the IT flight, J was at 100%. Not too sure about Y since I did not venture in there. I'm guessing the usual IT 80%

Was on VT-JGM.

Great report !

Shame about the food in the lounge.

For upgrade - 8000 miles and some specific booking classes. I guess upgrades on IT are not possible on lower bookings class. E,U,T etc.

Same with 9W one needs to be booked in K class and above to get an upgrade using miles or vouchers.

In fact,

I was booked in the lowest class for this flight in Y.

Low enough that even after upgrade, they din't allow me to web check in!

Surprising! Sometime ago I spoke to KingClub service centre and they informed one has to be booked in specific booking classes to get upgrades using miles/vouchers. Now i've found that info saved on my computer.
Upgrades with miles is not possible on revenue tickets booked in R,U,X classes. Dont know if you were booked in any of these. As IT very commonly sells U fares on domestic routes and they fall amongst the lowest Y fares.
Upgrades with vouchers is not possible if the pax is booked in the following classes E,G,H,N,R,T,U,X (wonder if rules have changed now)

New 9W rules- Revenue ticket booked in any class except G (group fares) can be upgraded to the next higher class of service using miles.
Whereas Upgrade Vouchers still need to be used with bookings classes K and above. (All 9w rules checked today)

Why the system did not let you do a web check? . I think the system was wrongly updated that you were to use a upgrade voucher for the flight. I get this idea as the check in agent asked you to present the voucher.

Every time, I use a voucher to upgrade with 9W / IT web checkin is not possible. As the voucher is to be handed over during the check-in process.
Kindly correct if, I'm wrong for upgrade rules.

On a different note. The Kombdi wada menu has been with IT for while and now it seems very uninspiring to me. As was 9W's Purdah Biryani menu. Which kept going onn and onn. Guess they are now done with it. (good riddance)

Glad you had a nice flight!

Pretty lousy lounge at an airport that was supposed to be their hub. And no alcohol? How pathetic. So much for flying the good times.

None of the domestic lounges of any airline seem to offer "free alcohol" - all on payment. Was at the IT lounge in BOM yesterday - super crowded, but good food and good bar selection (though pricey - about 250 for a pint of beer). The IT lounge in BLR does not even have a bar section.

The international lounges are different though - they have a wet bar included.

@ Jaysit: Yeah I know, it was the one thing I was looking forward to! A few beers are definitely needed to enjoy '5 Star' Kingfisher service! :p

@ Mel: Even if it was 250 a pint, something is better than nothing right? I'd rather pay 250 and have a pint than have 'Fresh Lime Soda' with a mickey mouse stirrer! Very Happy

@Stealth: Haha! I'll leave that to you. Well its just unfair. I'm paying so much more to fly J (Okay paid by miles, so what? still!), but I have to stow the screen at Top of Descent while Y pax get to enjoy the Flight Info page right through landing!

Thanks, the guy sitting next to me, wouldn't stop starring. ehh, but I din't care.
