Honestly, I am shocked.
I must have eaten tons of the stuff over the years, and am still very fond of it. Too bad Nestle s**ewed up so.
On one hand it is nice to see that the government is getting so proactive and banning something on health grounds. I thought the day would never come in India.
But on the other, I hope the same enthusiasm and pro activity go into exposing and banning Indian adulterators, who are many more in number compared to MNCs in India.
What is your take? Do any of you miss Maggi? _________________ I don't know which is the more pampered bunch : AI's widebodies (the aunties) or Jet's widebodies (the planes).

I think desi fundamentalists are trying to spread their wing in food business also. Nestle is a well-respected organization and I have digested all their processed food products ever since I was born. People of India should know that food as we know today is a high tech commodity and stone age goons have no business in it. Let then bite the dust and our life style will march ahead! _________________ Sabya99 |

Its so unfortunate that you are making this out into a desi/videsi debate. What right does Nestle have to make products with the wrong ingredients ? What right do they have to misinform customers ? Agreed, the food safety issue is a MUCH wider debate ranging from small shops/ thela-walas to giant MNCs . But that doesnt condone Nestles actions. It doesnt also finish the agenda for the Govt agencies- which seem to have been sleeping/looking the other way for many years, before waking up suddenly. And dont make Nestle into some kind of a victim here. They, along with several such companies have been guilty of these misdemeanours in various countries for many years , prominently in the West. |
