Well a.net has one and I dont see any reason why we shouldn't have one of our own.
Anyway as things stand now India have pulled of a miraculous and historic win over South Africa at the Wanderers, Johannesburg.
Are we seeing a revival of Ganguly here?
Your opinions and comments please.

A break for Sehwag is due for a long time now. Secondly, the contribution of Sreesanth & Laxman should not be forgotten.

Ravi Shastri made a very interesting point during the commentary. He said rather he implied that dropping senior players like Zaheer and Ganguly were intentional but temporary and not permanent like most people contemplated. Probably to reduce their complacency. If that was indeed the case I guess its paying dividends now.
And yes it certinly looks like Sehwag's turn will come soon unless he does something in the near future.

Agreed mate definitely. Btw Sreesanth's six and his antics after that were hilarious.

Sreesanth, the Indian fast bowler, has been fined 30% of his match fee after he pleaded guilty to breaching the ICC Code of Conduct on two counts during the first Test against South Africa at Johannesburg.
Sreesanth was found to have broken clause C 1 of the Code, which states "Players and/or Team Officials shall, at all times, conduct play within the spirit of the game", when he ran towards Hashim Amla after dismissing him in the second innings. He was fined 20% of his match fee for this indiscretion.
Sreesanth was fined a further 10% of his match fee after he was found guilty of breaching the ICC Logo Policy which states that only white garments must be worn under a shirt in a Test match. While batting, Sreesanth wore a black garment under his shirt. After it was pointed out, he took the field in a white garment but it had a commercial logo.

I think Sreesanth will not miss this 30% at all, his "marketability value" has probably gone up manifold due to his antics after that sixer. |

I think Chappell will still keep doing WTF he likes simply because although public opinion about him was at an all time low after the one day saga, after the test match he is Guru Greg again. Hehe

Good win but I'd watch out for South Africa hitting back in the next two games. Let's see how we do when South Africa win the toss, put up a huge total and our batting comes under pressure.
Sad to see a quality player like Irfan sit out. There has been some talk of making him open (the batting!). He can't possibly do any worse than Jaffer or Sehwag. |

Guys seriously don't you think these matches are all fixed? I mean some matches India losing out badly and some matches they win with a strong margin? _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Personally I dont think they are fixed. Also who cares, its entertainment.
Secondly, when Yuvraj returns who will sit out? Will Jaffer be dropped and Yuvraj made to open? Or will Ganguly be dropped again?
Also I guess Pathan should replace VRV Singh, VRV bowled well but never looked like taking any wickets, more of a stock bowler. Pathan's batting on the other hand will be quite handy.
Another option is to drop Jaffer now and make Pathan open. He did a brilliant job as an opener in Pak.

Definitly we'll see a fight back from South Africa and the onus is on India to do well in the reamining tests and clinch the series. We have seen so many times Indians winning the first match and loose the rest.Hope this time around they stay focused till the job gets done. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

We need more than 20 players who are all match winners. So that the next time if someone gets injured the other one replacing him can play well and win a match for you. Moreover Chapell can breath a sigh of relief and continue with his experimentation. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

I guess not a lot of people watch the domestic matches in India. They have to popularise the domestic game if they really want good performances in domestic. _________________ Geniuses are always misunderstood in their lifetimes. |

This was hilarious !
We all know that Warne has announced his retirement from Tests.
NDTV had a "special" programme on the same, with marquee statements at the bottom saying - "Bye Bye Hollywood - Warne"

I doubt.I feel he will be dropped down to #5 or #6.As Gambhir has not been tested on those tracks.
Sehwag if he does not fire this time,it will be back to Domestic no doubt.
Amazing how the Indian Batsman have Forgotten how to bat in a few months time.Too much Military training.

Pretty solid at tea at 153-0. They might open up a bit after tea.
IMO good move to drop Sehwag down the order esp if he can do a Gilchrist. Well he has got a dream pitch

153-0 is a fantastic score going by the batting performance in the past few months!!!! Hope they take good advantage of the solid start that the openers have given. Trust India to pull off a bad score even with a fantastic start like the one we have got today |

If our players focussed on the game rather than on the ads we'd benefit and keep consistency and not just be pure unpredictable players, where winning is not just the result of desired action, but belief and intervention from God _________________ I love the smell of Jet Fuel in the morning. |

Tendulkar gave a huge boost to Horlicks and Boost
Same case with Kapil Dev.
Kapil also made the BSA SLR cycle famous. Remember that advt in the 1980s? Kapil is off to the airport for a match. Half way his car has a puncture and just then this school boy passes by on his BSA SLR. Kapil asks him if he can borrow it, reaches airport ... and wins the match.
Comes on TV and then thanks his "young friend on a BSA SLR for the victory."
BSA was in peacock blue and flaming red colours and remember it was record sales as the Kapil bike.
Kapil Dev and Palmolive shaving cream is legendary.
Kapil and AIR INDIA!! Wore a maharajah's turban and advertised AI's Y class. Used to appear in Sportstar magazine as black and white advt. Not sure of it boosted passenger sales.
Dhoni and IA's J class.
Tendulkar and MRF tyres.
Shastri and MRF after winning the Audi!
Dravid and Bank of Baroda credit card.
Srikanth and hundreds of advts in Tamil. Even advertised for chuds!!! Was known as Shrikanth Jhatii!!! |

In the future any new player who makes it big in the intl stage will be trapped in this endorsement scene. And if he refuses this limelight,he will be termed "arrogant".He will not be consistent bcoz the corporates won't allow him to practise or play county cricket.I feel for these people. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |
