Since there are 1000s of CPL holders without jobs i think its pretty evident that it'd take pretty much time for all those employees getting placed. So thought of getting myself trained as a helicopter pilot (I've no idea how strong is the link between the commercial airliners and helicopters)
My queries are:
Is it worth getting trained as a helicopter pilot at this point of time?
How are the demand for helicopter pilots as of now?
If it is safe, where would I be getting the jobs? |

Helicopter jobs are on the decline. Many local news TV stations used to have an "eye in the sky" but have cut back on spending with the recession and these jobs are quickly decreasing. Police budgets are also shrinking as is demand for police helicopter pilots.
Now if you would like to go to Irag or Afghanistan then being a helicopter pilot could help you since it's so dangerous over there. Hope this answers your questions.
