Qantas A380 landing gear glitch caught on camera

Over the weekend a Qantas Airbus A380 suffered a glitch with its landing gear forcing it to abort its first attempt at landing in London Heathrow, and once it eventually landed an inability to steer shut down a runway for a half hour.

But in a very modern twist, the entire incident has been caught on camera and uploaded onto video-sharing site, YouTube.

Qantas flight QF31 from Sydney to London via Singapore experienced a problem with its nose gear upon approach to London Heathrow on Saturday, forcing it to abort the approach and perform a go-around.

Reporting the incident to airport officials, control tower readies the airport to receive the plane which will have to stop on the runway.

In the user-generated video it can be seen that upon its safe landing at London Heathrow, the plane sat on the runway until a tow could be arranged to terminal four, during which period London Heathrow switched to single runway operations.

The three and a half minute video from plane spotter mcpcshowcaseHD uploaded over the weekend has already seen over 2,000 hits from users all around the world.

According to flight data, it can be seen that the service eventually arrived at the LHR gate at 8:11am, 91 minutes later than scheduled.
