Coz yesterday while I was flying by Jet lite from Delhi-BLR,during our flight I requested one of the Cabin Crew to seek permission from the pilot to allow me inside the cockpit.But the pilot denied permission bcoz of security reason. My aviation Law professor who is also a AA 767 captain told me how to talk to pilots if u want entry into the FD.But entry during CRZ is still a no-no in the US. I am all about following the rules....i wanted to take my camera in but the chief steward ask me not to do so....so i left it out side...my log book does show the above mentioned event. It looks like we have shown the white flag to terrorists as they have instilled fear into our security forces mind, that they have to resort to such a harsher rule for the sake of safety of the people.It is a infringement on my freedom to enjoy flying and seeing what it is like from the cockpit... I have some 60 odd pages myself, about 10 international flights and the rest domestic. None of the Captains have ever said no, one enthusiastic Capt. even allowed me to jumpseat from descent to landing, one printed out the flight plan and some other information and sent it, some have even given me their card! But there are just a hand few of these, most of them will just sign it and send it back! Permission to enter the FD has also mostly been granted all the time except twice when by the time I got up there the Capt and F/O had already left, the F/A bluntly says NO! and sometimes if I know there is a quick turn around, I just don't ask cause they are really busy with weight and balance and clearances, etc Saurabh _________________ Flying High....
